Fem Hiccup Oneshots (Mostly Hiccstrid)

Accidents Happen

Sorry this one doesn't have as much Hiccstrid, however I have an idea for the next chapter that will be a lot more about them. This one is set after the episode when Heather joins the riders during rtte (So Hiccup and Ash aren't dating yet).

A colourful scene was painted outside the clubhouse doors. Orange, yellow and red, autumn leaves blanketed the ground and clung to the trees. The riders were scattered throughout the room, silently fiddling with whatever object was at hand, whilst they waited for the salmon strung over the fire to finish cooking.

Ash was hunched over in the corner, sharpening his axe with a rock he discovered earlier. Fishlegs was flipping through the book of dragons for the hundredth time. The twins were building a miniature TP  of twigs they found in the woods. Snotlout had his head covered over by his helmet, lounging on a tilted chair with his feet propped on the table.

Hiccup and Heather were the only couple elsewhere, scurrying around the pantry, snatching up dried herbs and grinding them into powder with a pestle and mortar.

Bored and tireless, Ash racked his brain for some other activity. He heard footsteps approaching and Hiccup's voice call out something, when a light bulb went off in his head. Earning a few looks from the gang, the warrior crept up and stationed himself by the door. He was carefully positioned to be out of the eye line of the girl walking through.

"Raaaaawwwwr!"

Hiccup screamed, throwing the herbs she'd been carrying. Remaining stagnant for a few seconds, her hand clenched into a fist and clutched against her heart as though she was trying to protect it, she panted heavily.

Amidst Hiccup's shock, the riders burst into laughter. Her face heated red and she frowned indignantly.

"Ash! That's not funny!... You guys are so mean!" she whined, crossing her arms in a huff. Irritation increasing as the guffaw continued, Hiccup spun round and stalked off, snapping back over her shoulder, "Come on Toothless."

Ash glanced up, unable to keep the amusement from seeping into his voice, "Oh! Come on Hiccup! It's really not that bad!"

Darkness clung to the Earth and stars shone in the sky. Hiccup was burrowed under her blanket that shielded her from the biting cold outside. Breathing deeply, she let out gentle, quiet snores that were timed with the rise and fall of the blanket and told of a deep slumber.

Soundly asleep, the tiny female was unaware of the two bodies creeping up the stairs. They were stealthy and silent, except for the constant giggles of mischief and the occasional creak of a floorboard, followed by a loud, exaggerated "ssshhh!". Two blonde heads inched towards the bed on all fours.

"Raaaaaaaawwwwwr!" the twins yelled in unison, springing up into the air - arms flung above their heads.

With an ear piercing shriek and flailing limbs, Hiccup managed to topple off the bed (blanket and all), in a state of panic.

The evil couple were howling; Hiccup on the other hand, was not so pleased.

"Ugh! I hate you both!"

She picked herself and her bedding off the ground and slumped back on the bed - pulling the blanket over her head.

The twins (still stamping their feet with glee) got a sharp smack over the head by a tailfin. Toothless was not happy to be woken by the ruckus.  

"Get a sense of humour T."
