The wind howled and the rain streaked down David's face, as he stood before the small pub, ready to complete his mission. Taking a deep breath, David walked forwards, quickly wiping the water from his eyes as he opened the door to the pub, stepped inside, and let the door swing shut. Some kind of magic had been used on the pub, because it was much larger on the inside than it was on the outside. Demons, hundreds, were standing or seated, the chatter of Human voices and Demon voices loud, which meant some Demon's had been learning to talk as Humans. One Demon noticed David standing in the doorway and stood up drunkenly, raising his tanker and shouting, "The President has arrived!" Instantly, as though the words had stopped time, the chatter died down. "Relax, everybody, I am not here to cause trouble," David said almost automatically, stepping further into the pub and putting his black, leather jacket onto a hook. "I thought you were dead!" one Demon shouted from the crowd, although his voice did not seem to indicate he was happy David was alive.
"You really believe what Valentine publically announced?" David asked, annoyed, "I am, as you can very well see, alive. In fact, now that you mention it, the reason I came to you all was because of Valentine." More Demons than before looked in David's direction now, "As I am sure you know, Valentine has put some kind of...enchantment on the soldiers and Royal Guards. I need your help, because if we are to defeat Valentine, you need to help me retake my place as leader." David wished he had not said anything, because the moment he finished, laughter erupted from the crowd of Demons. "Why should we help you? You did not do jack shit for us. If anything, we are happy with Valentine as leader!" David was afraid someone might have said this, but he shrugged off the comment easily. "In case you haven't noticed, I didn't have long enough before I was replaced unwillingly. I was recovering in a safe house, of sorts, after an attack, which resulted in my kidnapping. Valentine took over in the very short time I was absent."
One of the Demons scoffed, clearly not believing the story, but no one else seemed to think the same. "Then what is it you wanted of us?" a Demon asked loudly, "I need an army. From what my current spies and moles have told me, Valentine is working on a way to destroy the entire Demon World. If you want to live, the best way is to follow me in a fight against Valentine." The Demons stayed quiet, thinking or waiting for someone else to speak. "I will gather my Clan," a Demon said, Human looking, as he slid off the stool and made his way over to David. "And you are?" David asked curiously, "My name is Raphael. I am the leader of the Capital City Vampire Clan. We have been in the shadows for some time, so don't worry about your People being attacked." David shook his head quickly and said, "Its fine. Thank you for standing with me, Raphael." Once Raphael had agreed to help David, it did not take long for the head Warlock Clans and even a rogue Knight Clan to also pledge their loyalty to David. "Wouldn't it be better if the werewolves helped us too?" Raphael asked, and to that, David grinned.
"Ever since Theo died the werewolves have been waiting for the person he scarred to return. Me. The werewolves think I am their leader after Theo mixed his Alpha blood with mine, which may also mean I have similar skills to a werewolf, I do not know as of yet, anyway." Raphael nodded, and the door to the pub swung open again. Jennifer walked purposefully towards David, passing several black, snarling demons, and then stopping before him. "I didn't think it would actually work," she whispered to him, looking around at the many Demons that seemed eager to take the Capital Building away from Chad. "This isn't the only thing I did. I also called in a favour from someone in your family; he should be arriving very shortly." David whispered back, causing Jennifer to look at him with her eyes wide. "Who?" she asked quietly, and David shrugged in reply. "Someone who's generous enough to lend me half is army and continue to help me after all this is over."
The doors to the pub swung open once more, and a man stepped inside, his greying hair plastered to his face from the heavy rain and his blue eyes bright. "Dad?" Jennifer asked, her face betraying an incredulously surprised look as her father stepped forwards with ease, stopping before David and roughly shaking his hand. "A pleasure to finally meet you, Mr Verse. I must give my condolences for the deaths of your parents. Whilst we were enemies, it is always horrible to hear the death of someone," Jennifer's father said loudly, and David shook his hand with equal strength. "Thank you, Mr Silver. I should arrange their funerals within due course, it has just been hectic trying to fix something that has been broken." Jennifer's father chuckled, patting David's hand as he released it, saying, "Please, call me Tobias, most of my friends do." David nodded, acknowledging what Jennifer's father had asked, and then straightened. "How many men have you given to help with the assault?" David asked, and Tobias shrugged.
