Third Person's POV:

The first thing Buck feels when he wakes up is soreness and aches all over his body.

He quickly opens his eyes, but just as quickly closes them due to the bright light above him.

He can feel a hand holding his and slowly opens his eyes.

He looks down at the person holding his hand and sees Maddie asleep with her head next to his left thigh.

As Buck runs his right hand through her hair, she starts stirring and eventually opens her eyes.

"Evan, hey," she said when she looked up at him. "How are you feeling," she continued while sitting up straight.

"Really sore," he replied in a raspy tone.

"Well that's expected, but you should be ok soon. Doctor Sanchez said you should be able to leave tonight," she said while smiling.

"Well that's good," he smiled. "What about Chris, is he okay?"

She nodded, "Yeah, he's fine. Eddie took him home to rest. He said they'll stop by tomorrow."

"Okay, what about you?"

"Huh?" She tilted her head to the side.

"You sounded stressed yesterday and you look really tired."

She shook her head and smiled, "Only you would be worried about me in this situation."

"You're my sister, It's my job to worry," Buck smiled

"Hey, that's my line," she joked while lightly slapping my arm.

"But for real, you should go home and sleep in a bed. You need it, and I don't think sleeping in a chair is good for your back."

"I don't know, I don't wanna leave you here alone."

"I'll be fine Mads, go home and sleep. After that, you can come back here if you want."

She sighs, "Okay, I'll see you later." She leans down and kisses his forehead.

"Love you," Buck smiled at her. She smiled back and then left the room, turning off the lights as she did.

Buck moved around a little, pulling the sheets up to his chin, before going to sleep himself.

~~Time Skip~~

"Come on mijo," Eddie says to Chris as they enter the hospital room.

Buck groans and slowly opens his eyes.

"Hey, sorry if we woke you," Eddie smiles apologetically.

"Nah, it's okay," Buck smiles back.

"Bucky!"

"Hey, Superman. How are you?" Buck asks while sitting up and giving Chris a hug.

"I'm good Bucky. I missed you," Chris hugs him back.

"I missed you too, both of you," Buck says, looking at Eddie during the last part.

Eddie smiles, "Have the doctors told you anything?"

"Well not to me, but they did to Maddie. She said that Doctor Sanchez said I should be ready to go by tonight."

"Okay, that's great," Eddie smiles, before he grabs a chair and sits next to the bed, where Buck and Chris are sitting.

"So, Christopher and I were talking earlier and we don't think you should be alone right now; we decided that you'll be staying with us until you're ready to be alone, that is if your okay with that," Eddie says

"Yeah, Buck. I don't wanna be alone, so I don't think you wanna be alone either," Chris says, looking up at Buck and smiling.

"Aww, that's really sweet of you guys, thanks," Buck smiles, ruffling Christopher's hair; making Chris giggle.

As Eddie's about to reply, he gets interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Hey Buckaroo," Sam says as she walks in with Hen, Maddie, Bobby, and Athena.

"Hey guys," Buck smiles.

"Sorry I'm late, but I brought cards and Chinese; so let's get this party started!" Chim says excitedly as he walks through the door, holding up the food and cards.

They play cards and enjoy their Chinese food, until eventually everyone starts heading home.

"Bye guys, I'll see you tomorrow," Sam says while giving Chris, Buck, and Eddie each a kiss on the cheek.

"Bye Sammy," Chris says tiredly.

"Bye Sam, thanks for coming," Buck says.

"Of course," she then turns to Eddie, "I'll be over in time for breakfast."

"Okay, see you then, bye," Eddie replies, before she walks out of the room.

~~Time Skip~~

"Thanks again for letting me stay here with you guys," Buck says to Eddie as he tucks in and already sleeping Chris.

"Don't mention it, you've been through a lot and I got your back."

"Thanks, but can we sit down for a sec?"

"Yeah, sure," Eddie replies before walking over to the couch and sitting on it.

Buck sits next to him, "I have to ask Eddie, why are you so okay with me being around you guys? I - I don't get it."

"What? Why wouldn't I be okay with that?"

"Because I lost him, Eddie. He could've died all because I was so adiment on saving other people. He should've been my absolute top priority."

"Buck, are you listening to yourself? The fact that you saved other lives is not a bad thing. Not to mention that you had no idea that there would be a tsunami. You kept him safe when you could and when the wave swept him away, you didn't stop looking. That's more than a lot of people would've done."

"But he was alone. What if that lady hadn't -"

"But she did though, she found him and he's safe. Which he wouldn't be, if you hadn't saved him when the first wave hit. Doesn't matter what you say, he's here because of you; he knows it, I know it, and I won't stop saying it until you know it. Okay?"

Buck nodded, "Okay."

"Good, now let's get you to bed," Eddie says, causing Buck to give him a confused look.

"What? You didn't think I'd let you take the bed did you?"

"Eddie, I can't ask you to give me your bed."

"Well you're not asking, I'm telling you that you're taking my bed."

"Can we at least share it? I don't feel comfortable knowing that I'm the reason your back is going to hurt tomorrow," Buck ask giving Eddie a pleading look.

"Yeah, that's fine," Eddie says, giving Buck a smile.

They go to Eddie's room, where he gets clothes for Buck and himself.

Buck goes to the guest bathroom to get ready for bed and Eddie goes to his own.

When they are finished, they both lay in the bed facing up to the ceiling.

"Thank you for letting me sleep in your bed, by the way. I don't think my back can handle sleeping on a couch, dispite me being a little stubborn about it," Buck says while looking at Eddie.

Eddie looks at him smiles, "Of course. What are friends for?"

Buck returns the smile, "Goodnight Eddie, sweet dreams."

Eddie chuckles, "Goodnight to you too, Buck."
