Chapter Five
The rest of my day was spent calming Damien down. He was so angry about what Jayden did that he could barely keep it together. I was scared, but I was a skilled enough actress that I didn’t show it. I didn’t even shake. “D we need to talk about what you just did to Jayden.”
“Talk about what? The fact that he’s a disgusting pig that goes after you every time Jace, Tony, or I are gone. Or, how about the fact that now that Jace and Tony are gone he’s more apt to try it even more, because I’m not always there.”
You see he is kind of hung up on the fact that Jace and Tony left. They were his other best friends, besides me. I rolled my eyes, and looked him dead in the face.
“I am perfectly capable of taking care of and defending myself if the situation arises. Understand?”
He just nodded his head absently. He was so out of it. So, I surprised him and jumped into his lap and gave him a kiss. It wasn’t one of those kisses that was super-passionate or sloppy, but one that said you’re mine. After the shock factor wore off he started to kiss me back. We sat there for a minute kissing, until I pulled away and said, “We need to announce to our friends tomorrow, screw waiting a few more days.”
A mischievous smile grew on his lips and sent a troublesome twinkle to his eyes.

“HEYYY EVERYBODY!!!” I shouted, “WE HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!”
D was laughing at me for yelling, but it got everyone’s attention because they all turned to look at the two of us.
“What do you want Reynolds?” Jake asked, another of our friends.
“If you must know, me and Damien have an announcement to make. About the two of us.”
I waved our hands in the air, as our hands were entwined in each other at the moment. Damien laughed at me and at the confused looks we were getting.
“Charley and I have been dating for about a month and we wanted to tell you guys earlier, but we both agreed that we should wait until we thought it was official.” Right then he had a smile on his face like he was the happiest man in the world and it sent a million butterflies to life in my stomach. They were a happy kind of butterfly, not the nervous kind.
There was various applause and cheering for us. I got a few, “why her? She’s such a bitch. OMG! Slut much!” the works but it didn’t bother me in the least because I had Damien right there next to me.
“Sorry we waited so long to tell you.” I had a sheepish smile on my face, because I was getting embarrassed with all the attention on me. You see I’m semi-popular, but I’ve never been one to like the attention entirely on me.
My friend, Becca, came up to me and gave me a hug, but then she whispered in my ear something that kind of disturbed me, “Don’t ever cheat on Damien, or be with another guy for a long time, he’ll go berserk.” She gave me a pointed look.
“Alright, I’ll take your advice.”
Walking away kind of confused, I went over to Damien who was describing something very animatedly to the guys, and told him I had to go to class. With a quick kiss, I went to my classes.

Now, nothing really eventful happened in the next few months, even after I turned 16, but here’s where things start to change.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Hey Damien, I’m gonna go with Jake and some of the guys to the store real quick, do you want anything?”
