Ariella sat down on a stool. She sipped her drink and patiently waited. Cooper sat down next to her and they quitely waited for the others to show up.
"What's so important that the 5 of us need to have a meeting? Just because the guys that want the ring are in the school doesn't mean-" she began but Cooper cut her off.
"Who told you that?" he snapped and she looked him dead in the eye, blushing from anger.
"Luke did." she said and Cooper sighed, messing up his already messy hair.
"He wasn't supposed to tell you." he sighed and Ariella looked him in the eye.
"And why is that?"
It came out harsher than she wanted but it was too late to take it back.
"Because we're supposed to be protecting you. I know you have the right to know but I wanted to ease you into it." he said and Ariella didn't know what to say. He had been thoughtful about her. It seems as though the tough outer core of Cooper was slowly beginning to melt away.
"I would've been upset if I found out later, you know." Ariella said and turned her body so that it wasn't facing Cooper's anymore.
"Listen..." he began but was interrupted as Michael, Brandon, and Luke walked in and sat down.
"So what's the game plan?" Brandon asked and Michael ordered some food.
"Yeah, how are we going to protect this pretty little lady?" Luke asked with a slight smile to Ariella. She tried not to react because Cooper and the others were right there, but it was hard not to.
"I was up all night, I couldn't sleep. We have no idea who these guys are and I'm getting worried for her safety." Cooper said and everyone got serious.
'So that's why he was a mess when he walked in.'
"Well Michael is good with computers, maybe you can try to find a trace to that twitter account that harassed Ariella and Brandon and I or Cooper can search around the town to see who might be acting strange or just popping up in random places. Whoever doesn't go around town can spend time with Ariella to make sure nothing happens. I'll gladly take that role." Luke said with a wink and Ariella could feel Cooper physically clench next to her.
"I'll stay with her, I know her best. Anyways, she's annoying you don't want to be around her for too long." Cooper said blandly and got up.
"We'll all report back tomorrow morning at school." he said and motioned for Ariella to get up.
"Hey, be nice to Cooper. He gets frazzled." Michael said and Ariella smiled and nodded, waving before quickly following Cooper out the door.
The car ride was another quiet one, as usual.
"Do you remember that day we went to the bar, and I had to flirt with that guy? Maybe he's a helper or something..." Ariella pointed out and the memories of that day came back, especially Cooper telling her that he was the only one that wanted to make her moan the way she did. She blushed a little at the thought before he responded.
"It's possible. I don't think he was the leader or anything, he probably would've recognized you, especially when you were," he cleared his throat, "you know." he finished and she nodded, trying to hide her blushing face.
"I can finish it." Cooper said and Ariella snapped her head towards him.
"What?" she asked and his hands shifted along with his body in the driver's seat.
"I can finish what he started with you in that bar."
