Chapter 28

It's 6 in the morning of a cold Saturday. I have nothing much to do today. I have already scheduled my weekend. My project is under trial now. It's almost going to complete. This one is the biggest project of my life. I have worked very hard for this. I have sacrificed my countless sleepless nights by working on it. I feel excited now that I'll be starting it very soon. I didn't know where am I going to apply it at first. And that's exactly what I was going to find out till the end of this weekend but for now I don't wanna get disturbed by anything at the moment. I need to balance my health now which has fallen badly since last 2 weeks because I worked real hard in the last days of my project work. But yeah there is this one person who controls my life more than myself. My best friend. My best mate. El. We knew each other since the days when we were just starting our lives and had no idea of future and our careers. We studied together but after the graduation our paths got changed but that never came in between our friendship. We remained the same dumb and fools for each other.

She was a born writer. She started writing many fictions and non-fictions and eventually got a job in the current top most company in the world of technology. I heard they started a new project after buying a simple software from a scientist and changed it to somehow a great app which is quite useful as well as entertaining. It's about fictional stories and the games created out of those stories. I am actually impressed by their work. They have done it marvelously. And El was happy now that she can also get some reward for her work.

While I opened my own soft ware house after getting kicked out of many companies. They simply couldn't afford my extraordinary brain. In the beginning I designed so many applications but those were just minor apps. As the time passed by I learned a lot from my experience as I was alone in this and no one was there to whom I would be responsible so I experimented a lot on my own. I wanted to create something different and unique. Then I started this project of making software clones. I wanted to make them more useful and creative. On my last meetup with El I came to know that the app she is working on is got evolved to some extent. They don't need the automatic stories provided by the system. From now on they can create their own stories and set a plot. El had been working on a fictional story she told me about werewolves and vampires kind of thing. She said she was going to take it to the next level in which she made the death in the story real. If the person playing his part in the story dies, he will die in this world too. Now this thing would be just for giving some spice to the audience. It would add suspense and drama in the story and people will get curious to watch till the end. While she will make sure that her characters would be clear of the word killing. They will just fight and give minor wounds to each other that would seem serious to the people who watch the whole game outside but no one would die or get seriously injured in the story. She made her characters in this way and it was not a big deal because whatever the story plot would be, it is already written in the outside world. The characters just have to play their parts inside the story and finish it smoothly. This is how the whole thing got my attention when El first time asked me to play the role of protagonist in her story. I wasn't interested at all in the first place but then this idea came into my mind. Why don't I just create my own software clone, put the basic info about myself in it and then send it inside the game. It was risky, very risky. If my designed clone didn't go the way it ought to be then both of us would be done for good. El would lose her job and her reputation that she has been getting around the world through her great work. People love her new techniques used in the app. She is getting popular among her fans. And I would go behind the bars and would lose my career, my all work that I have done throughout my life by using my own techniques in some other company's app without their consent which is basically not some random company but the most successful company of the time. But I have already made up my mind and I worked day and night to design this clone software, installing my all basic information including my physical features in it. And by the end of this weekend I will send my clone software to El's story app. I am just waiting for her call to tell me if she is all set so that I can go inside the story and finish it and of course I am never going to tell her about the clone playing in the story instead of me. I'll tell her after finishing the game.
