A/N: Well this is taking a weird turn. *Ahem* sorry in advance lol.

Spensa pushed through the rubble to the remains of the cafeteria, Jorgen behind her, leaning on a pole that he'd used as a makeshift crutch.

Spensa's hand collided with something solid. "Found it!" she told him, pushing away more rubble until the door creaked open. Spensa tried to flick on the lights, but the bulb flickered briefly before going out entirely.

The sound of metal clanging metal echoed through the room as Jorgen followed her. It was one of the situations where Spensa really wished she had a flashlight. The room was giving her ominous vibes, so she whispered to Jorgen: "Let's just get some food and get out."

They moved further into the kitchen, grabbing what little was within their reach. "Okay, we probably have enough, let's go-" Jorgen started, but he was interrupted by a low growl.

Spensa froze, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. "Walk. Backwards. Slowly." Spensa breathed to Jorgen, and they both took a hesitant step backwards. The metal pole made a clanging noise and the growl ceased, before some black shape launched itself at them.

Jorgen instinctively held up his only weapon, a metal pole, but his leg buckled since that was what he was using to support himself. Spensa grabbed the pole from his hands and stabbed wildly, hitting something on her second try.

The thing hissed and retreated further into the kitchen. Spensa thrust the metal pole to Jorgen, helping him stand up and limp past the kitchen door. Spensa slammed the door as Jorgen sank to the floor and let out a whimper of pain. "What's wrong?" Spensa demanded as he rolled up his pant leg.

The injury on his leg had been torn back open and was bleeding through his pants. "Scud." Spensa swore, kicking the kitchen door angrily.

She helped Jorgen up, the latter of whom winced in pain as they hobbled back to the room, Spensa dropping off the food from the kitchen. She went to the room next door and managed to sift through the rubble enough to find a sheet, which she washed in the sink and then brought back to Jorgen.

She wrapped his leg in part of the sheet and they waited in silence before the bleeding slowed substantially. "What was that thing?" Spensa asked finally.

"That thing was what caused everyone in this building to flee." Jorgen responded.

That night, before they slept, Spensa locked the door.

A/N: AHAHA WHAT IS THIS-

As far as I know, there will be a part 4. Idk, if I'm motivated enough.
