A Mele Alola

Red and Blue step off of the boat and onto the island of Melemele. They head out of the ferry terminal and walk off of the marina.

"A photo club? That's cool," Blue says, walking up to the building. Red grabs Blue's small wrist and drags him into the photo club. "Alola, cousins! You two look like tourists!" The lady behind the counter says. "We're here per special request of Professor Oak," Blue says, wriggling out of Red's strong grasp. "Is that so? Since you're here you should take a photo with your Pokemon!" She exclaims.

Blue and Red are led into a room and told to send out a Pokemon partner. Blue sends out his treasured Arcanine while Red sends out his Pikachu. "So we can choose a background? What do you want, Red?" Blue asks. Red switches through the different background for a bit before finally settling for one that looks to be in a meadow. Blue's turns a bit red. Flowers. His favourites. "R-Red... you didn't need to choose that one..." Blue mutters.

Red clicks a button and the 3-second timer starts. He quickly get backs to his spot next to Blue and the photo is taken within seconds.

The two leave the room and the lady gives them their picture. "If you would like, we have various things for you to use to decorate the photo with," the lady says. Red nods quickly and she pulls out some boxes of stickers. Blue returns his Pokemon and Red copies.

Blue chooses a Pikachu frame to pay back the favour from earlier. Red gets a sticker that says "Welcome to Alola!" and puts it onto the photo. "Uhm... can I ask you young men a question?" The lady asks. They both turn their attention to her. "I can't help but notice how close you are. Are you, perhaps, together? It's so adorable!" Blue turns bright red and starts frantically waving his arms in front of his face. "We-We're not! We're just friends!" He exclaims. The lady giggles softly before saying, "but is that really what you want? Seize your chance!"

Red and Blue walk to a Pokemon Centre to pick some stuff up. "I'm just going to bring Arcanine with me. I may find a Pokemon I want to catch," Blue says, putting some pokeballs into his bag. Red gets some too and only brings his Pikachu.

The men walk down Route 2, taking in the scenery. "Is there a Pokemon in the grass that we can't see? I wouldn't want to get attacked," Blue says, inching away from the patch of grass. Red points to something causing the other man to look. "Oh, an inn. Wanna get a room for tonight?" Blue asks. Red nods and the two head into the reception.

They drop their stuff off in the room and continue down Route 2.

"Tomorrow morning I want to check out the beach," Blue says. It's quiet for a while because both are in their own world.

Blue looks at the sparkles in Red's eyes. He gets lost in the mesmerisation. "What is it like not having a care in the world?" Blue asks in his head, "maybe that's why he's so perfect in every way. Not having to stress over things." Hair grays from pressure but youth stays when the future is clear. If only he were like that. If only he wasn't feeling some weird feeling whenver he's around Red. If only-

"..."

Blue looks up to see yellow flowers everywhere. They're just like the ones that they used in the backgrond of their picture. "R-Red where are we?!" Blue exclaims. Red isn't paying attention at all and is messing with something in the flowers. Blue leaves him be and walks into the flowers.

"Lil!" Blue looks down to see a Petilil clinging to his shin. He sits down and sets the small Pokemon in his lap. "Such a cutie!" He exclaims and the Petilil coos adorably. "Wish I could be a Pokemon just like you. Then I wouldn't have to worry about what Red thinks of me. He'd love me because I would be a Pokemon." The Petilil senses Blue's distress and wraps it's leaf-like appendages around his arm. The man chuckles and pets the small Pokemon on her head.

"Pew peeewww." Blue stands up abruptly when he hears the foreign sound. "Pew!" He hears it again. He follows the sounds of the cry with Petilil in hot pursuit. Blue comes across a really high patch of flowers. "Peeeeeew..." the Pokemon sounds distressed so he quickly gets to work with moving the stems out of the way. He finally finds it and pulls it out. "There you go. You're a unique one," he says as he lets it go.

"Nebby! Nebby! Come back here you little rat!" Blue hears a girl shout. He turns around to see a young girl with a red hat on. The Pokemon floats up to her. "Quit causing trouble for other people!" She exclaims. She walks up to Blue. "Sorry about tha- wait, aren't you Blue?!" She asks. He nods slowly. "Coolio! I knew I recognised you! I'm from the Kanto region so that's how I know you. Anyways I'm Selene and I'm on my island challenge along with my annoying brother Elio," she says with her hand out. Blue stands up and shakes it. "Okay. See ya 'round! And if you ever see Nebby straying on its own then please, pick it up and keep it out of trouble."

Blue and Petilil watch Selene leave. "Well, she's an odd one," the man says and bends down to pet Petilil. "I've got to go now, girl. It was nice," Blue says and attempts to walk away but she pulls on his shoe to stop him. "Hm? What is it?" She jumps up and down, with a pokeball in her hand. "Wait- that's mine! How'd you get that?!" He asks. She stops jumping and presses the button, going inside. "So that's what she wanted?" Blue says, picking up the occupied pokeball and putting it into his bag.

The two men meet up at the front. Red hands Blue a pokeball. "Red what did you catch?" Blue asks. Red points to Blue they just stand there for a second. The brown-haired man soon realises. "Y-YOU CAUGHT THIS FOR ME?! WHY?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!" Blue shouts. Red looks a bit sad but the shorter man sighs and places a hand on his shoulder. "You need to stop spoiling me," he mumbles. Red smiles ever-so-slightly and links his arm with his best friend's and heads out of the meadow.
