~Act One Intermission~
{A/N: First of all, Happy Holidays! Okay, so I’m sure that you’ve noticed that this story has been separated into acts. The idea is that every few chapters I’m going to put in a one shot about things that are happening to other characters at the time that this story is going on. They’re usually going to be pairings, because I want to be able to give you guys a look at other cute couples in this universe too! We’re gonna have one with punk!Arthur and Francis, Ivan and Al (that’s this chapter actually, woohoo!), Antonio and Lovina, and a few others that I haven’t decided yet. (My other one shot on this site, a fluffy gerita thing, was supposed to be one of these but I got impatient and posted it as a separate thing. Oops. :p) If you’d like to suggest one, post it in the comments! I’d gladly write it, as long as it doesn’t conflict with any of the pairings already listed.
Also, you might notice that the rating of this story has gone up. This may or may not have something to do with the make out scene in this chapter, and also with Alfred’s mild potty mouth. I’m honestly not extremely worried about this because, let’s face it, you’ve seen Hetalia. But as they say, better safe than sorry!
Aaaaand this is officially my longest author’s note yet. I’m just gonna let you guys read now. If you’re actually still reading this hella long author's note, then congrats. Have an internet cookie! Happy reading, my lovelies!}
(Oh, and I don't own McDonalds, just so you know.)
Alfred shook the tension out of his lean shoulders, turned on the faucet and began to lather shampoo into his hair. He was sweating, out of breath, and he was pretty sure that the QB had been checking him out.
Yes, never let it be said that football practice wasn't a lot of work.
Alfred liked football, he really did, but sometimes he wished that it was a bit less mentally demanding. I mean, the physical side of football Al could handle easily, but when it came to the cliques and mind games that were expected of the 'populars' (a group in which he, a charismatic member of the football team, was unfortunately apart of),he was helpless.
He stood still for a second, letting the steaming water rush over him. Usually he hated locker room shower, but it was kinda nice when no one was there to ruin it. Pretty soon though, he heard someone else walk in from the field. That was kinda odd, considering it was unusually late for anyone to be in the locker room showering. Alfred was only still in there because he had to run extra laps for the coach after practice was over, and as far as he knew he had been the last one out on the field.
Alfred heard someone clear their throat behind him, and he turned around in his stall to see Ivan Braginski, the team's openly gay all-star quarterback. Personally, Alfred thought he was gorgeous, although there was no way he'd admit that to anyone. Ivan had pale ashy hair and odd deep purple eyes, but his good looks were usually overshadowed by the fact that he was kind of an ass.
He was jerked from his train of thought by a polite cough coupled with a raised eyebrow. Embarrassed that he had been caught staring, Al blushed and stuttered out a quick "H-hi, Ivan. What's up?"
Ivan smirked, and Alfred was suddenly glad that his vital regions were hidden behind the shower walls. "Well I was planning on showering. I was wondering if it would bother you, some do not like it when I do that. You understand, da?"
"Yeah dude, it's fine. I was just gonna finish up in here and then be on my way anyways. Just go ahead and do what you gotta do, I guess."
"Okay, I will then, thank you." Ivan gave Alfred a childish and innocent smile that Alfred couldn't quite believe, considering that he had seen the broad Russian man beat the crap out of people with that same unsettling grin on his face.
