Thursday.
Confidence, it was something that Aria lacked, unless of course she was with Marco. But this was something she had to do, to save him from a life of bleak grey walls.
Somehow, she had scraped together the money from their savings account to get him a somewhat decent lawyer and today would be her first visit.
When she reached the building of offices, she looked for room eleven where the lawyer, whose name was Miroslav, was located in this maze of a building. She soon found room eleven after several sharp turns and twists.
She knocked on the door, with a simple melodic rhythm of one -- two -- three. The muffled footsteps from behind the door made her wait for the door to be opened instead of knocking once more.
The door opened to reveal a slightly tall, tired, washed out looking man whose lips twitched upwards into a smile when he saw Aria, however his green eyes remained somewhat sad despite the smile on his lips.
"Aria?" He asked, beckoning her to enter his neat black office, while she nodded. "Come in and take a seat please."
She followed his instructions, taking a seat and letting her eyes wander around his modern office, taking in the hundreds of books that surrounded the room.
"I've had a look at Marco's case, and at his police interview and I believe that if we find a loophole in their evidence, we can prove his innocence." He stated, clasping his hands together on the table.
"I think I might have a better plan, but you're the law expert here." Aria said, pausing slightly, realising that she might have been out of order.
"Go on." Miroslav prompted, gesturing with his hands for her to carry on talking.
"It'd be dangerous, really dangerous but if I get wired and then work with Mats, I could gather evidence against him that would lead to his arrest and maybe even Mario's, therefore proving Marco's version of events and innocence." Aria said with a smile, finally getting her risky plan off her chest.
"Indeed, very dangerous but it would most definitely work. I'd be able to get the police to work with us also for extra safety and protection." Miroslav replied with a nod, smiling to himself about the bright girl in front of him. "I'm sure there's a book somewhere in here about a case like this."
Aria stood up and made her way to the hundreds of books. Her delicate hands ran across the pale wooden birch bookcase, pausing every few seconds to read the titles of the books on law that could help prove Marco's innocence.
Her fingertips brushed over a purple book that was titled 'The Wire.' She pulled out the book and scanned the blurb quickly, smiling to herself when she realised she had found the book.
She handed the book over to Miroslav, who began skim reading it and taking notes on how this case had turned out and what they could do to combat the problems the previous case had faced. Over an hour later, Miroslav finally stopped taking notes and handing his papers towards her.
"Alright, Aria, here's the plan..."
