Chapter 19: Attack on Bangtan

Everyone piles into the cars, jittery as they make their way through the now empty streets on the campus. For the first time, no music plays in the car. Yoongi is gripping the steering wheel so tight his knuckles are paler than usual, the blue veins hyper-pigmented through his skin. You're sitting next to Namjoon and Jungkook in the backseat of the car, with Jimin in the passenger seat. Hoseok is driving the other car, with Seokjin and Taehyung. It's weird that the car is so quiet, and you can feel that the energy on campus is different. It makes your hair stand on end, and you reach out, intertwining your fingers with Jungkook's. He gives you a quick squeeze, before bringing your hand to his lips and kissing the back of it gently.

"Relax."

You give him a look.

How can you relax? Despite this being partly your decision, you thought it would be in a couple months, not the next week after you guys talked about it. You thought you would have more time with Jungkook, with all of your newfound friends, who you just found out you're destined to have in your life. You can't help but feel small inklings of regret creep in that you didn't spend enough time laughing with Taehyung, taking polaroids with Jimin, listening to Yoongi's music, dancing with Hoseok, and talking about books with Namjoon. You definitely didn't spend enough time loving Jungkook. Seokjin's the only one you have no regrets towards, seeing as he's been your best friend since you were a child.

It is eerie that no one is out on campus, not even the errant student on a bike or jogging. Yoongi pulls over at the entrance of the Greek housing section, and you all slowly climb out of the car. Still holding Jungkook's hand, you slide out from the backseat. Standing on one side of the car, you see the others meet and climb out of their car, and Yoongi, Jimin, and Namjoon walk over to them. Your other hand clutches the small lipstick tube Yoongi gave you. This is the item that's supposed to help you save the world? Doubt begins to creep in the more nervous you become.

"Hey," Jungkook shakes your hands, pulling you from your thoughts. You both are still standing by the backdoor of Yoongi's car. "Stop thinking that way. I know you. Don't let any doubt creep in. We can do this. It's different this time."

"Is it?" You whisper, throat hurting as you hold back the tears threatening to spill.

"It is, Y/N." He untangles your hands, moving to grasp your face gently, his thumbs caressing the apples of your cheeks, wiping away a single runaway tear.

"How do you know?"

"Because ever since I found out you were destined to be by my side, I felt a sense of calm. That everything would work out in the end. Like my DNA rearranged. It's more than a coincidence that we met at that cafe, you were mine through all the centuries past and you will be mine after this, and until the end of time."

You lean up onto your tip toes and kiss his lips gently, and he walks closer to you, putting his hands on either side of you onto the car. You can taste him, a mint gum flavor that always reminds you of him, your moon bunny with the galaxies that light up his eyes. Another tear falls, this time from the overwhelming feeling of love you have for him. You don't want this to be the last time that you kiss him. You wrap your arms around his slender waist, and he pulls away from his lips, resting your head against his heart.

"I love you, Jungkook. More than anything in this world."

He giggles before throwing you for a loop.

"Maybe for right now, but once we have a few bunnies of our own, that might change."

You look up at him quickly, eyebrows drawn together.

"A few bunnies...?"

"Your eyes, my smile, your brain, my athleticism...preferably three of them?"
