The Akita Pit is a mix between an Akita and an American Pit Bull Terrier. Akita Pits are sometimes called a Pit Akita or an Akita Pit Bull. They can thrive in small homes with active urban dwellers, but will do better in larger homes or/and families. They are very affectionate with family, but isn't a good dog breed for novice owners. They are very protective dogs and might test your boundaries every once in a while. They will alert you to any dangers, and love you no matter what. The Akita Pit will be okay if you are not home a lot, so don't be too worried if you leave him for a long period of time. They don't need too much exercise, although daily exercise is preferred. The Akita Pit grows 16-23 inches at the shoulder and weighs all the way from 30-70 pounds! Their average life span is 10-12 years.
