The Alaskan Klee Kai was originally bred to be Companion dogs. They tend to be timid around strangers and other dogs, so are prone to express their emotions with whines and barks.
The word Klee Kai comes from an Inuit term meaning: 'small dog'
This dog breed is really good in colder climates, but not too good in hotter climates.
They drool exceptionally, but shed quite a bit. They're easy to groom and are healthy. They're also small, and don't grow a lot.
The Alaskan Klee Kai is easy to train and intelligent. They also have a really high Prey Drive.
Their Energy Level is high, but not intense at all. They have high Exercise Needs, and are pretty playful.
They do okay in an apartments, but they aren't too good at staying home alone too much, as they need attention.
They stretch from 13-17 inches at the shoulder, and weigh 10-15 pounds. Their life expectancy is 12-16 years.
