Later, I went upstairs to call Connor.

"Hello?" Connor answered.

"Hey, it's Charlie."

"Well hey, what's up?"

"Nothing much, just thinking about last night," I replied, lying back in my comfortable bed.

"I was just think about that too. That was fun. No- you were a lot of fun."

"What do you mean?"

"You don't remember?" He asked, sounding a little disappointed. Didn't remember what?

"We kissed," he almost whispered. We kissed?! Connor and I kissed? I kissed a guy I had known for less than 48 hours? That was so unlike me. I'd only even kissed one guy before that, and we had been dating for months before anything happened.

"We did? I don't remember," I said calmly, even though inside I was jumping for joy.

"Well, you did have a lot to drink. I'm surprised you even woke up yesterday."

"Oh, that's so embarrassing. Did I do anything else that I'll cry about later?"

"I have to spare some of your dignity," he remarked. I was so embarrassed.

"I'm sorry. That wasn't who I really am. I'm not usually like that," I said.

"I'd love to get to know what you're usually like. Are you free tomorrow night?" Was he asking me out?
"I think so, why?"

"Let me take you to dinner. An alcohol-free dinner," he insisted.

"Um, yeah, okay. I'd like that," I had to bite my tongue to keep myself from screaming.

"Great, I'll pick you up at six?"

"Sure." I couldn't believe what was happening.

"Okay, what's the address?"

"145 Meadow Lane," I said.

"Meadow Lane? Wow."

"What? What about Meadow Lane?"

"That's one of the most expensive streets in the Hamptons. I'm surprised."

"There's more about me than what meets the eye," I joked.

"Believe me, I know." Then he hung up, leaving me smiling ear-to-ear.

I had nothing to wear for my date. I could only imagine what Connor was going to wear. I decided it was time for me to make some friends. I texted Connor and asked him for Keaton and Laurel's phone numbers. It was time to shop.

They came and picked me up in Keaton's bright pink jeep. My grandparents had given me money- too much for this excursion and I was ready to shop.

"Hey!" Laurel greeted me as I walked out of the house.

"Hi! Thank you guys so much for doing this for me!" I replied, getting in. They both looked adorable. Laurel was wearing an aqua blue dress with a fun seashell print, and Keaton was wearing a denim button up shirt and pink gingham shorts. I was wearing a pair of knock-off nike shorts and a soccer shirt from fifth grade.

"Our pleasure! Now, what do you want to wear for your hot date tonight?" Keaton asked.

"I don't really know, I was hoping you two could help me," I said. They both nodded and smiled in response and we drove into town.

We stopped at a couple of small boutiques, but found nothing for me. Laurel and Keaton, on the other hand had too many clothing bags to carry.

We went into J.Crew, and I instantly thought of Connor. Laurel and Keaton picked out an outfit for me, and I was surprised by both, how good I looked, and how expensive it all was.

I got home, showered, and took a quick nap. When I woke up, I looked at my phone and saw that the time was 6:30. Holy shit. I had slept for three hours and was 30 minutes late for my date with the hottest guy alive. I had three unread messages from Connor.

Can't wait to see you. Leaving soon.

Here.

Where are you?

Shit, shit shit. I stood up, threw my outfit on, brushed my hair and teeth, and sloppily applied foundation and bronzer. Somewhat happy with how I looked, I grabbed my bag and rushed down the stairs. I entered the kitchen out of breath, to tell my parents where I was going, only to see Connor sitting with them, drinking ginger ale.

"Hey guys," I said, skeptically.

"Hi there, Charlie, we were just speaking with Connor," my mom said, addressing me.

"I can see that, we should probably get going," I said. Connor nodded, and stood. He shook my dad's hand and said goodbye. As we were walking out to his car, he said, "Your parents are great."

"Mhmm...Stop being sarcastic," I replied, as he opened the door to his Range Rover.

"I'm not! They're almost as fun to talk to as you."

"Flattery will get you everywhere." I replied as we drove off.
