After we cleared the dishes, and said goodnight to his parents, Connor and I went to the basement to watch a movie.
I turned my phone on and saw countless notifications from my whole family. The messages read:
Get home now, mom and dad are going to kill you this one was in a group message from Ashleigh and Jeffrey
CHARLOTTE OLSON. I WANT YOU HOME RIGHT NOW. this was from my mother.
Charlie, please come home. this was from my father. And the list goes on. I was so dead.
"Maybe I should drive you home," Connor suggested, reading the messages over my shoulder.
"No. I want to be with you right now. I'll deal with them later." I sat on the couch next to him, and laid my head under his arm and tucked myself into his body. It felt so good to just be able to smell him and be with him.
We started watching Safe Haven, and I told him how hot Josh Duhamel was. He, in return, began to tell me how hot Julianne Hough is. I hit him on the shoulder.
I fell asleep with him, and woke up as he was carrying me upstairs to the guest bedroom. He set me down on the cozy bed and left me to sleep.
I stayed at his house the next three days, and ignored every call and text from my parents and siblings. He took me on a special date every night. We had lunch with Haley and his parents everyday, too. I enjoyed and savored every moment we had alone together, and every time he touched me. I felt so lucky, and told him that constantly up until the point where he told me to shut up. We had so much fun together, and never was there one dull moment, because we would either be having deep conversations, making fun of each other, or kissing. I had completely opened up to him. He knew all my secrets, and I opened up to him about my family. I had only two days left with him. One day, we hung out with Brooks, Laurel, and Keaton, and when Connor got up to go to the bathroom, Brooks and I talked.
"He really likes you, you know," Brooks said, sliding closer to me.
"I really like him too." I replied, blushing. Laurel and Keaton were on the other couch, oohing and ahhing at pictures of guys from Hot or Not."Here, I'll show you what the guy texted me at two in the morning today," Brooks said, taking his phone out of his pocket. Two in the morning?
He showed me their texting conversation.
Connor: She's so fucking amazing.
Brooks: ya, I get it. You like her.
Connor: More than like, man. I think I might love her
Brooks: Slow down, Con, you've known her for a week & a half
Connor: I can't slow down. she's so perfect and hot. the only other person i felt this way toward was Caroline. Who was Caroline? As Brooks saw me read that message, he pulled his phone out of my hands.
"Who's Caroline?" I asked the room. Laurel and Keaton stopped what they were doing, and looked up. Connor walked into the room.
"No one," he said, sitting close to me. I slid further away from him.
"Connor..." Brooks warned.
"Connor, who is Caroline?" I questioned.
"She was my girlfriend," He replied, averting his eyes.
"When?"
"We broke up in June."
"It is June." I replied.
