oikawa was only in his second year of university when he met iwaizumi so he was thankful that he gets to see him for another two more years.

oikawa might be proud that he's gay but he's still a shy person that will never have the guts to confess to someone he likes.

he was always watching him from afar, never daring to go nearer than a five meter distance. the good thing was that iwaizumi played in a local volleyball team so oikawa will sometimes sneak into the court to see him practice and buy the tickets to his matches when he's involved in a competition.

it was pathetic really, that was what oikawa thought. every night, he'll blame and laugh at himself at how he likes iwaizumi so much but would never get the courage to even approach him.

the last time they talked and had interacted was two weeks ago, which was when iwaizumi rescued oikawa.

but even though oikawa was only able to see him from a distance, the moment iwaizumi smile or laugh, oikawa felt like he was in utopia.

iwaizumi is popular in school which meant he had a lot of fangirls and even some fanboys. it kind of annoyed oikawa because they would block him from seeing iwaizumi sometimes but at the same time, he's jealous of their bravery to actually get close to him and even talk to him.

so this crush thing continued for about the next two years and soon enough they were in their last year of university, preparing for graduation.

within those two years, oikawa had decided to go for it at last and drop in a confession letter in iwaizumi's locker but it was written anonymous so he wouldn't be able to know who was it from.

but in those two years iwaizumi had also dated a few girls and turned down boys making oikawa realized that iwaizumi is straight.

it made oikawa really upset for quite a few months but that didn't stop oikawa's growing love for him.

and even so, the longest he had been with a girl was half a year so he might still stand a chance.

after one whole year of consideration, oikawa finally decided to confess to iwaizumi on their graduation day.

the day of graduation came soon and everyone was getting dressed and packing up their belongings in their dorms to move out.

and you have oikawa who was standing in the canteen, fumbling with his letter, waiting for iwaizumi to appear and tell him about his feelings. this would be his final letter to iwaizumi.

iwaizumi appeared after ten minutes, but with a girl in his arm. oikawa blinked in disbelief as iwaizumi announced to the whole school something he didn't expected.

"guys, meet my girlfriend and fiancée, ara masae. please stop bothering me with confessions because i proposed to her a few days ago thank you."

oikawa looked blankly at iwaizumi who kissed ara on her lips and heard the sound of his fans groaning in disappointment. but oikawa just frozed there. he didn't know what to do but his body moved naturally. he walked towards iwaizumi and quickly dropped the letter in his backpack so that no one noticed, not even iwaizumi.

he turned around after dropping the letter and looked at how sweet ara looked with iwaizumi. it can't be. why? he should have been faster. even if he rejected him, at least he got to speak up about his feelings. but now, he wasn't even able to confess.
