"W-what are y-you doing," I say breathlessly while stumbling over my words. Christian says absolutely nothing. Instead, he puts a finger on my lips and gazes in my eyes. Those gorgeous alluring green eyes. Why are they so freaking cute?

I want to pull away but I just can't. The more I stare into his eyes the deeper I fall into this foreign feeling. I can't describe it. It's definitely not love, but it's not like it's hate either. I just can't put a word to this feeling.

"Hey! Dinner is read-,"

I look over to see Justin standing in the doorway staring. Staring at me and Christian. Saying nothing just staring.

I feel my heart stop at that moment. I start to feel dizzy and my ears start to ring. The feeling that I had before is completely taken over with guilt and embarrassment. I don't want anybody (especially the only guy I have a shot with being friends with) to think I'm anything remotely like my mother.

While I sit there dumbfounded Christian gets up with an incomprehensible look on his face. But I could still tell that his look had a hint smugness in it.

Christian smirks and whispers in my ear, "Oh that's too bad I guess we'll have to finish this later."

This whisper sends shivers down my spine. I am sure it is definitely not pleasure or anything. Yeah, definitely not.

And so a Christian gets up and leaves with a grand exit. At that moment I could've sworn just for a split second I had seen Justin glare at Christian.

Justin's face changes instantly when he sees me. Instead of glaring daggers at me (like he did with Christian), he wears an empathetic look on his face. For that reason, I couldn't even look him in his eyes.

I already screwed up after giving myself all of these speeches on how I was going to be perfect. But how could I ever tell Mrs.Gretchen,

"Your son seduced me and I fell right for it." I am 100 percent sure those words will never leave my mouth.

My thought are interrupted when Justin says, "C'mon let's go eat dinner."

****

The rest of the day went normally. If normal was riding in a car that was set on fire while trying to save your stolen baby. I know that's a weird analogy but that's what it felt like.

Throughout dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Gretchen were talking to me nonstop like I was their long lost, daughter. Dontae shot me all kinds of dirty looks and sly words. Shawn paid no attention to me or his actual family at all and acted as if we didn't exist. Lance watched me like a hawk with his eyes filled with some form of determination and judgment. Lucas sat next to me and was babbling happily the whole time like it was just an oh so perfect day. Noah nervously took little looks at me while nibbling in his food. On my other side was Justin who was taking not so subtle peeks at me. And finally Christian. The source of all of my problems. He acted as if nothing happened not even bothering to look at me once and talked to his family normally like that whole moment between us didn't even happen.

I fall back into my bed that welcomed me with comfortable arms after a long day. I recall the events that lead me to this moment. How fast things can change in a moment is pretty scary. After that, I try to think of a way to get along with the boys. It will make my life easier to be friends with them rather than enemies.

Knock-knock. As I sit up to make my way to the door I feel slightly irritated that I had to leave the comfort of my bed. I open the door expecting to see those annoying emerald green eyes but instead I see the light brown eyes of Justin staring down at me. A sense of relief and disappointment wash over me, but I quickly push the disappointment back as fast as it came.

"I'm sorry to disturb you and I hope you weren't sleeping and I know it is pretty indecent of me to be in a young woman's room at the dead of night and-," Justin's flustered rambling is cut off when he hears my laughter.

"What?" Justin asks confused and slightly embarrassed.

Through my laughter, I respond by saying, "For one I don't remember the last time I have heard the word indecent and two it's so funny seeing you nervous. How about you come in, have a seat, and then let's talk."

After a while of thinking, Justin reluctantly enters my room. Moments of silence pass as we settle on the floor. I can tell Justin is very wary of how close he was to me and scooted back a little. I take in the scene as the moonlight illuminates through my window. All of the objects against my wall are hidden in the darkness while Justin and I are in the light the moonlight gives out. I study his face as the light reflects on his face making him look pale yet his face looks flushed at the same time.

Justin sighs and I take it as a cue that the conversation is about to begin.

"So about what I saw before," Justin says carefully tiptoeing around saying the actual event, "I won't tell anybody."

"Thank you," I say as relief begins to wash over me.

An awkward silence overcomes the room. Justin opens his mouth to speak again.

"I would advise you to not be too comfortable with Christian. You see Christian can be a little..."

Justin never finishes his sentence letting it drag out, but I nod anyway and smile at him. I understand perfectly without him having to finish his sentence.

Justin tilts his head slightly and asks, "What does that smile mean?"

I finally meet his eyes and answer, "Don't worry I will not indulge any further in the Christian business."

This earns me a light chuckle from Justin whose eyes light up when he laughs. It makes me happy to see him happy and maybe it's because his laughter is so contagious.

"Plus it makes me happy to know I have an ally in this house. I am not alone," I continue.

I can tell this takes Justin by surprise and a warm smile spreads on his face.

" I hope we will have a long and healthy partnership," Justin says seriously, deepening his voice offering his hand to me.

I laugh shaking his hand. After that Justin and I talk for a while as he tells me funny stories of the boys. I got to learn more about Justin. He's a nice guy with a funny bone in his body who also gets flustered pretty easily. As for the other boys, I can tell that they are an expressive and funny group. I'm sure they'll show that side to me when we get closer.

After Justin's last story he gets up to leave. The pain in my stomach from all the laughter finally lightens up. A feeling of loneliness comes across me but only for a split second.

"Good night partner. I'll see you in the morning," Justin tells me with a tired grin on his face.

I giggle and respond, " Yes I'll see you in the morning."

I lay in my bed for a while awake after Justin left. Just as I was about to doze off I remember one major problem I forgot about. It is one word.

School.
