Sans' view:

I opened my eyes and groaned, rubbing my head. Man, it feels like I bashed my head through the stalagmite instead of my hand. Ow... what happened anyway? Hmm... Grillby and I were talking... then maybe I fell asleep? Did he carry me to bed? Huh, that's strange. But hey, at least I had no nightmares last night. Wait a second... I didn't have a nightmare! Maybe they're gone for good now! I get out of bed and stretch, the bones popping slightly from the lack of movement last night. I head downstairs to help dad with breakfast. Huh... strange. He isn't down here? I look at the clock, it's after nine. Where is he? I head up to Pap's room. He isn't there either. I walk outside. Since when was our house in Waterfall? I poke around a bit. Finding nothing about dad and Pap, I continue walking. I reach the Waterfall and Hotland border and lying on the floor was dad. I run over to him and rolled him over. I hold back a gasp. His eyelights were dead, there was no light at all. I shook him a bit and he choked. I look down to see a knife in his SOUL. I stare at him in a panic and try to grab the handle. But of course, it seems as if I can't interfere in these vivid night terrors. My hand passes right through the handle. Dad's eyes grow wide as he seems to be staring at something behind me.

"I... I don't understand..." He rasps.

I whip around, but before I can see who is behind me, I'm plummeting as the floor falls away. I'm slamming through walls of color and sound. Distorted voices fill the air and I can only catch bits and pieces. Then one voice comes out clear and right behind me. The voice is deep and seems to be said with difficulty as if the speaker couldn't breathe.

"LIES!"

I turn my head and get an impression of snapping fangs and dripping, black eyes before I continue falling.

WAKE UP! IT'S A DREAM! WAKE UP!" I scream at myself, getting thoroughly scared.

The colors are getting aggressive. Dashing at me, gripping my arms and throwing me like a child with a toy. I feel wind whipping me forcefully and I can't seem to stop spinning. I flinch at the sound of a gunshot and see flashes of blood splattering around with the wind. A chip of bone slashes me across the face and I feel marrow seeping out. I'm forcefully thrown to the floor and see the worst sight yet. All of my friends... my family... everyone was burning. The bodies were piled as far as I could see. Almost straight up, each one had a look of terror on their face as the fire consumed their lifeless corpses. I collapse on my knees at the horrible sight.

"Together... Always~" I hear a voice hiss.

I open my eyes slowly, doing nothing to stop the tears this time. That was the most horrible night terror I could ever have imagined. I take a deep and shaky breath. Why couldn't I wake up? Usually, I can pull myself out of a dream I should be able to pull myself out once it gets too scary. I swirl my tongue around. There's a strange taste in my mouth, but it quickly fades. I lift my head. The clock beside my desk is reading 9:37, which is way later that when I get up usually. I rub my head and go downstairs after throwing on my clothes. I stretch my spine and grab a bagel. I drop it in the toaster before leaping out of the way as Papyrus comes barreling down the stairs.

"Gahh! Slow down Pap!"

He skids to a halt and looks at me with wide eyes.

"You're just eating breakfast now?!? Dad and I ate hours ago. Get moving ya lazybones!" He says playfully, patting my head before dashing out the door.

I groan and eat my bagel. I've gotta write down that nightmare and try to figure out what it meant. I went back up and lifted the floorboard. I grabbed the book and pencil and trudged to the bathroom. I felt disgusting and sticky as if I was actually still coated in the blood of my dream. I shudder and close the bathroom door, turning on the shower. I light my eye and the book floats before me. I bring it out of the stream and whisper to the pen what it should write as I soap up the shower puff. I saw the pen's loopy writing appear on the paper as I continue to recite what I remembered of the dream. I've noticed this over the months. I am very apt with gravitational magic. More so than dad even. I often find myself using blue magic without meaning to. Like now as the shower puff boops my nose because I'm not paying attention to it. I finish soaping and rinsing before jumping out of the shower. I grab the towel, still whispering to the pencil. I grab them and finish writing the dream myself. I put the notepad back and head out to find where dad and Pap were. I found them outside, they were speaking with Asriel, who was peering over the fence. Well... pfft. I guess the nickname suits him better now. Flowey the sunflower. I snort into my hand and Pap looks up.

"What's so funny?" He asks in an annoyed tone.

"Sorry Pap, it's nothing. What are you guys talking about?" I answer with a question.

"We are seeing how Asriel is able to move around. It seems if he thinks of a place and ducks underground, he will come out of the ground in the place he thought of." Dad responds, still gazing at Flowey's petals.

"Huh... okay then. Have fun with that. I'm goin' for a walk." I mumble.

Dad makes a noncommittal noise, so I go on my way to Grillby's. I tell him all about my most recent night terror and he gets extremely apologetic. He told me he gave me a sleeping pill because they were supposed to put someone into a sleep too deep for dreams. He offers to tinker with the recipe of the pill, as he is a chemist.

"Thanks, Grillbz. I appreciate your help. Yeah... I'd like that." I smile at him.

He returns my smile warmly and heads off for a moment to tend to a different customer. I sigh and lean my head on the counter. My bottle of strawberry liqueur in slight danger of spilling as my elbow knocks it. I hear Grillby finish with the customer and stand up.

"You know what Gillbz? I'm gonna try something out while you perfect that recipe, kay?" I ask as I head for the door.

"Alright, Sans. Good luck with whatever it is." He calls after me.

I take a deep breath and go back home. Hopefully, my plan will work.
