My nerves hit a high as Clare and I made our way towards the group of delinquents. I locked eyes with Tom, noticing the spark of mischief behind them. He was smirking at me, not in a malicious way but one of pure arrogance.
"It's nice to see you again Hermione" Tom says
"I would like to say the same, but I would rather of not seen you so early in the morning" I banter back, earning a few chuckles from his comrades and a pinch on my arm from Clare.
"I like her"says the white haired boy.
"Of course you do Abraxous, you like any female that walks in your sights" says the girl Raven.
"Aside from you" the black haired boy snickers at her.He has electric blue eyes with freckles under them. His olive skin glows under the lighting drawing attention to his unbuttoned dress shirt. Tattoos litter his chest going all the way down to his mid chest and what I assume the rest.
Raven huffs in annoyance, storming off to go see her group of friends.
"Why did you want to see me Tom" I question.
"Headmaster Dippet informed me that you'll be taking extra classes this semester. He asked me to keep an eye on you".
"I don't see why anything I do would be your business. I don't need a peeping Tom in my academic studies" I say back, again earning me a pinch to the arm. Abraxous chuckles while Clare gives me a death glare.
"Everything is Tom's business" the black haired boy says. "Especially the little pretty ones".
"Thanks for the compliment but I'm perfectly capable of taking extra classes without anyone's help especially his" I hammer back. Tom just chuckles, a deep throaty sound that could scare anyone in ear shot.
"Oh Hermione, and you'll learn that I don't take lightly to disrespect. Just for your little attitude I'll make sure I'm the one keeping tabs on you. Poor Abraxous must be upset now considering he was the one I originally ordered to do the job. I'm far to busy to be looking after some insolent little girl" he says.
"Yeah, thanks a lot Hermione, I was looking forward to following you everywhere... Even the lavatory" he winks.
"I don't need a babysitter" I say trying to pass by him. Tom takes one step forward and is now towering over me. His chest is touching mine that's how close we are. I can feel the anger radiating off of him and feel his heavy breath as he inhales and exhales. His head tilts down ever so close to my face that I can feel the breath on it.
"I wasn't asking, I'm telling you" he states, "I see you didn't think much of our conversation yesterday...don't provoke me". He continues breathing down my face, the anger radiating off him in waves. When he finally decides I get the point he wisps away out the entrance. His followers trail behind, but gaze at me with a wicked smile. It's a look of promise, one that makes it clear Tom Riddle isn't someone I want to mess with.
It wasn't until they left the room that I let out my shaky breathe I was unaware of holding. The horde of people in the room all had their eyes trained on me. Raven glares at me, annoyed that I got any attention from Tom.
"You seriously have a death wish" Clare says. "I can't believe you said that to him".
"Neither can I" I say honestly. I mean in my time he's the darkest wizard of all time. Just his name instills fear.
"You know, I had warned you about him. Your lucky he took it easy on you. I'm surprised he didn't rip you to shreds the first second you spoke out of line" she says.
