Professor Dumbledore briskly walks through the corridors ahead of me. Together we push our way through the gathering crowds of students all of which are excited about their return to school. I notice as Dumbledore passes the masses of students, he smiles at the small amount of banter each produce.
As Professor Dumbledore and I reached our destination, I couldn't help but wonder why we were stopped. I looked up at the Headmaster and gave him a puzzled look - questioning why we were standing at a dead-end hallway. He only smiled back at me in return.
Harry had told me stories of Professor Dumbledore's office before but he never talked about its location. In front of me was a massive gargoyle with wings, set in a small outlet. I was too fascinated by the intricate details that I almost missed Professor Dumbledore waving his wand and saying the phrase: "Sherbert Lemon". The gargoyle immediately begins spinning in a clockwise rotation revealing a spiraling stone staircase that leads to what I assume is the headmasters office.
At the top of the stairs is a large oak door with a detailed design of a tree on it. Etched into it are names some of which I recognize as old Headmasters.
"Alohomora" Professor Dumbledore chants. The door immediately opens conveying hundreds of portraits with different men and women. One portrait in particular catches my eye, Armando Dippet, the previous headmaster before Dumbledore. I came across his picture over the summer while researching Lord Voldemort. It is widely known that he was the headmaster during Voldemort's years at Hogwarts. As I tear my eyes away from the smiling man my gaze is drawn else-wear to the sorting hat perched on a dingy old bookshelf.
"Miss Granger" the hat says.
I smile in response then focus in on the red and orange bird perched just below him on Dumbledore's desk. Immediately I begin thinking of my repertoire of birds with this one being one of the few I have not come across. Below the creature sits a large metal bowl most likely used to catch the creature's feces. A tiny noise comes from the birds beak then it catches fire and disintegrates into ash in the bowl. I quickly turn to Professor Dumbledore with a panic stricken face.
