Description: Lily loves flowers, James and Sirius want to know how far they can go without her snapping at them.

Throughout the years James studied Lily at Hogwarts he always knew she had a very big thing with flowers. Very cliche considering her name but nonetheless it was true. She liked flowers and flower scented candles. He knew this about her, he just didn't realize how much she favored these items. Apparently enough to constantly have them around the head's common they started to share in the beginning of their seventh year at Hogwarts.

It started out simple within the first couple of days in the shared headquarters. She brought out a vase of flowers and used it as a centerpiece for the common room coffee table. They were violets, very bright, and they smelled nice too. So that was a plus in James' very little opinion in the matter.

The real problem then was very minor but, it was still a problem, was the fact that Sirius Black and James Potter loved to play exploding snap and catch in the head common room. Lily didn't mind that they played it either as long as she wasn't there when they furiously chucking a quaffle at full throttle left and right.

At the time it seemed like a solid idea, that was until James tripped while throwing the quaffle and it hit Lily's vase of flowers. Sending the flowers everywhere and breaking the pretty, delicate, crystal vase. Not only was the vase shattered to bits but the flowers were destroyed. To make matters worse Lily walked in at the exact moment the quaffle hit the vase, shattering it.

James and Sirius sucked in a breath, waiting for Lily to pop her top. But she didn't.

James and Sirius let the breath, waiting for the thousands of detentions she was going to give them. But she didn't.

James and Sirius waited for her to say something, maybe even yell. But she didn't.

Lily just stared at the broken vase, well glass shards all over the floor and blinked a couple of times before sighing and pulling out her wand. She waved her wand and instantly the mess was gone. The flowers and shattered vase were nowhere to be seen.

"Sorry." James winced, still prepared for her to throttle him across the room. She shrugged and made a humming noise in response.

"Likely story." Lily breathed out, taking her leave to her room.

The next morning the vase and flowers were replaced to James' shock. They weren't the same though. This vase was a clear blue, cubed shaped, glass vase, with white Rose's in it.

That afternoon James and Sirius broke her new vase and destroyed the flowers in the process.

They waited for Lily to scream and curse them out. But she didn't.

They waited for a glare of hatred to be shot at them. But it never came.

They started to get confused, when Lily cleaned up the glass vase without a word, just a depressed sounding sigh and then departed her room. It wasn't till Thursday evening when Sirius put the idea in James' head.

"She doesn't seem incredibly mad about the vases or the flowers, Padfoot." James commented while they were forcing themselves to do their DADA homework.

"Who? Evans?" Sirius asked, not really paying any attention.

"Yeah," James said, filling in the answer to a question.

"I wonder how many vases we need to break in order for her to yell at us." Sirius questioned, making an idea pop into James' brain. He looked over to see the vase, it was pink with white poke-a-dots. Lily had put daisies in the vase and placed it on the table Tuesday morning.

"I wonder how many vases she'll replace?" James told his mate. Sirius grinned and poked the vase with his middle finger, pushing it off the table causing it to shatter. James laughed at Sirius' actions, high fiving him.

"Brilliant." James muttered, not noticing that Lily saw Sirius push her vase off the table.

"Okay." Lily sighed, mostly to herself before cleaning up the broken shards of glass.

When the boys came back from dinner there was a new vase. A white vase filled with sun flowers. James broke it.

And this is how it went on for two weeks.

James would smash the vase.

Lily would replace it.

Sirius would throw it against the wall.

Lily would replace it.

James convinced Peter to try and eat the vase. It was left bloody and Peter went to the hospital wing.

Lily would replace it.

Sirius kicked off the table in front of her.

Lily would replace it.

James took his broom and swooped the vase off the table.

Lily would replace it.

Sirius sat on it. That was a bad idea, he ended up in the hospital wing with Peter.

Lily would replace it.

James hexed the vase to his very best ability.

Lily would replace it.

Sirius would break it on Prongs' (James) antlers.

Lily would replace it.

Finally Lily said something to them on Sunday night. They were playing wizards chess. Lily set a new vase full of flowers on the table. Crystal vase, red roses.

"Twelve vases. You guys broke twelve vases. That's fine, I hated those vases. My sister got them for me." Lily kissed them both on the cheek and James froze from shock. "Thank you for destroying those vases. If you touch that vase, I will not hesitate to kill you." She said pointing to the vase on the table.

Let me tell you what happened. They broke it.

Hope you all enjoyed!!
