The girl who sank

she stands above her sink,
blade in hand
tears run down her face,
as she thinks about the pain.
she takes the blade and glides it across her arm
row after row after row.
at first one drop on the floor,
now two,
now an entire pool.
and she stands there.
crying and "saying girl that sinks girl that sinks girl that sinks"
and after a while, she starts to get dizzy
as though she can't control it
falling and failing.
just like everyone said
the girl who sank.
