A blaring noise resonated around me.

'The fire alarm?!'

I was panic stricken.

Searching around, I frantically grabbed my phone and my purse. I ran out of the music video tech room to see everyone making a dash for the exit of the building.

Mrs. Sung saw me as she was passing by and yelled out, "(y/n), the building is on fire. You have to get out of here before it spreads!" Then she was gone with the crowd of people rushing to escape. I began running along with everyone else. A staircase was close by, so I started descending it.

As I was going down the stairs, pushing my way forward beside many other panicked employees, I heard someone shout my name.

"(Y/n)!!"

My hand was grabbed and I stopped to turn around. It was Yeosang.

"Yeosang?!" I yelled back over the screeching alarm.

"Listen, I hope we make it out of here, but just in case we don't, I need to tell you something important." He paused for a second, trembling and out of breath before continuing, "I like- no. I love you (y/n)."

His eyes looked sad as he carefully cupped my cheeks with his hands and leaned in towards my face. Our lips nearly touched but then...

I woke up with a jolt, sweaty and startled.

I was in my bed in my darkened apartment. Checking the time on my alarm clock, it was three in the morning.

'What a crazy dream...' I thought, rubbing my temples.

The very end of the dream when Yeosang confessed and nearly kissed me flashed through my mind. I froze and my eyes widened.

I thought about that scene over and over.

'Ahh! What am I thinking?!' I thought, shaking my head.

I laid down and stared at the ceiling, trying to calm myself.

'Yeosang... if only you really were in love with me...' I thought.

'This sucks. I'm crushing on someone who probably doesn't think of me as more than a fan or an intern. He might even think of me as a friend, but that's the most I would be to him.'

I turned over on my side, trying to get comfortable as my thoughts kept racing.

'The real question is, if I ever confessed to him, would he give me a chance...?'

I laughed. 'Why would he...? Unless I'm underestimating myself... Ugh, I don't know. I need a second opinion.'

I called Nari, hoping she would answer despite the time.

"H-Hello?" Her voice croaked. She sounded like she had just been woken up.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" I asked.

"Yeah, but it's fine. What is it? Is something the matter?"

"Well... I just woke up from this dream."

"Uh huh."

"I dreamed that I was at work and the building caught on fire. As I was making my way to the exit, Yeosang found me and confessed his love for me. And then he... he... leaned in to kiss me. But I woke up."

"Oh, dang."

"Yeah..."

"So what do you think about that?"

I was quiet for a moment, trying to choose my words carefully. "I think... I think I care about him even more than I thought I did. I think that... I need to just embrace my feelings, but that's hard because of this situation. I mean, the likeliness of him actually accepting me and returning these feelings... seems extremely low. I don't even know if he wants to date at all when it's such a risky thing... you know that. So what I'm saying is... I'm putting myself through a lot of heartache by crushing on Kang Yeosang."
