Just a few more chapters left. Time to see how this all ends.
______________________________________The previous night had been full of unforseen events. First was Ykuei's explaination that had let (y/n) know that Illipia was only using him. Then there was the realization that he would die after Scar was defeated since Illipia wouldn't need him as her inheritor any longer. The goddess herself had drove him to his final breaking point, and it was then that he became what he was now.
Zhu told him what he needed to know. (Y/n) was no longer simply human. He was a symbol of power that held the ability to ward off evil or become evil itself. It was his choice. The process was thought to be impossible, turning a human into something so unnatural. It had only happened because of the three things present within him. Zhu's power, Illipia's power, and the essence of another soul combined to create the power that now ran through his very blood.
"(Y/n), we're leaving in the next thirty minutes. Will you be okay?" Ara spoke as she approached him. The El Search Party had been afraid of him at first, but once they had realized that he was still himself, they were fine with him. He was glad to at least still be seen as himself even though he no longer felt like it. "Yeah...I'll be okay," he replied. It was early morning, and Scar would soon be getting a visit.
(Y/n) was unaware of what his fate would be now, but his connection to Illipia had been severed the previous night. Neither she nor Zhu could convey their words directly to his mind. Maybe it was a good thing, but it left him unsure about his future. "We're ending this today, I promise," Ara spoke. (Y/n) looked back at her to see that she had a worried look on her face.
"You don't need to concern yourself with my problems, Ara. I can't keep putting that burden on you," he spoke. Are shook her head at him. "It isn't like that. Your problems stopped being your own when I found out that we were from the same village. Our families aren't rivals anymore. You and I share the same kind of history, so I'm going to help in any way that I can. If it means fighting against Scar and putting an end to anything that could harm you, then so be it," Ara determined.
"You're so optimistic. Must be nice," (y/n) muttered as he watched her. She flashed him a smile. "Of course I am. I wouldn't be me if I wasn't. You're the one who helped me figure that out, remember. How can you expect to win if you've already been defeated in your mind?" she spoke. Her last statement was a reiteration of his own words to he when they were first faced with Scars threat.
"That kind of made me feel better," he muttered with a slight smile. "Hey, you two, we're leaving early. Let's go," Chung informed as he appeared. Without another word, the trio returned to the group fi ding everyone ready for the last battle. "What's she doing untied," (y/n) asked referring to the blonde gunner.
"Rose is helping us out until we stop Scar. Then I'll help her and you'll never have to see her again," Ykuei explained. "I till don't trust her," Raven muttered under his breath, but (y/n) could hear him perfectly clear. "If you so much as accidentally shoot in any of us, your soul is mine," (y/n) threatened. His aura pulsated for a brief moment to add to his intimidation factor. Rose had not faced him when his full power was avaliable, but now she would find out what true terror was if she crossed the line again.
"Everyone break into your teams before we get there. We'll need to get though to Scar as soon as possible, but his generals will try to get in our way. Let's end this once and for all!" Elsword announced. He seemed back to his normal self now that he'd had time to get over everything that had taken place. The El Search Party including Zhu, Ykuei, and Rose began to head back towards the volcano.
(Y/n) was grouped with Zhu, Chung, Lu, and Ciel. They were chosen to be the main group to clear the pathway for the team. Ara, Elsword, and Ain were to be directly behind them as the main force to take down Scar. It was (y/n)'s group that was supposed to help them conserve their energy since his team supposedly could endure a little mana burning.
Then there was Rena, Raven, and Add who were tasked with fighting Jin and In. Elsword had determined that the two generals wouldn't separate, so an effective teamwork was necessary to counter them. Add was merely there for strength in numbers. That left Ykuei, Eve, Aisha, and Rose to deal with General Zhen. At first, (y/n) was opposed to the idea of not being there to counter his mother, but Elsword had convinced him otherwise. The final group waa only going to distract her. Ykuei and Aisha we capable of teleportation which was the only reason Elsword had sent them.
(Y/n)'s mental recap of the plan was inturpted by a rock that was thrown at his head. He easily caught the object before it hit him, but that didn't ease his irritation. The villagers of Lanox still did not view the El Search Party as their saviors. If it weren't for Elsword's wish to pass through the town, they wouldn't have to deal with the villagers' silent disapproval. (Y/n) couldn't really blame them, but he was not on their side either.
Getting past Lanox was the easy part. Even their arrival at the nearby volcano was easy compared to what they were soon to face. Much to the El Search Party's dismay, Jin and In were waiting for them. "We weren't supposed to split up this early, but I guess it can't be helped," (y/n) thought as he and Zhu got ready to plow right past them and attack whatever came next. Zhu had allowed him to sit on his back and would continue to do so until they reached Scar.
"Looks like Scar was right. To think they'd return so soon," In mused. His sister, Jin merely rolled her eyes. "Pay attention you moron. They've clearly thought of something. We'll need to keep them busy here until Scar finishes his preparations," she spoke. No one was capable of hearing their conversation other than (y/n), but it didn't make any difference. They were being arrogant to think they could keep the entire El Search Party from getting past them.
Rena, Chung, and Ciel fired at their enemies without an ounce of hesitation. Jin and In didn't seem to expect this, although it was foolish for them not to. The long range attacks were enough to get them out of the way. From there, the front line team charged straight for the entrance to the volcano. Jin and In were unable to do anything about it.
Once they were in, Zhu took the lead. The fox easily remembered where Artea had been kept last time, so it was probably the same path that led to Scar. They didn't have very many options regardless. The only thing (y/n) did worry about was whether or not General Zhen would stop them. Jin and In May have failed, but he was sure that his mother wouldn't eaaily be bypassed. He just hoped that he could go along with the plan instead of staying to stop her like he wanted to. She was technically still his mother afterall.
______________________________________Okay so I'd say there are maybe three or four more chapters to be written. If I don't get things like I want them, then I'll add on, but that's what I think is left so far. Until next time you amazing readers!
