Chapter 1: "Take it so Literally"
"Shut Up and Dance" By WALK THE MOON
The sequel. I was sitting in my house watching TV with Gunnar, Robbie and Nico when I got the call. Paramount Studios wanted to make a sequel for Miles for Violets. I pretty much dropped the phone and peed myself right there. Of course, they wanted to make a sequel. Every blockbuster film had a sequel. Divergent had Insurgent. The Hunger Games had Catching Fire. To All The Boys I've Loved Before had P.S. I Still Love You. All sequels. You could see this coming for Miles for Violets. But it hadn't even been a year since the last one. Are they sure they had written a good sequel and were ready to start production? I had no idea. But as the phone fell out of my hand and vomit almost flew out of my mouth, I realized something important. That meant that, Zach, Elizabeth and everyone and I were going to be working together again. And that Amber was coming back from New York to film this. Holy shit.
Yes, it hadn't even been a year since the premiere, but let me just tell you. A lot has changed. I no longer am struggling with physics or any sort of school because yes, I graduated! Acting has been my full-time job now. I actually got all sorts of job offers since the premiere. Gunnar's phone has been blowing up with offers I actually had to hire an actual publicist and a manager. I got a couple big time commercials, small roles on TV shows, more and more talk shows that's for sure, and I got to star in a movie, Dear Bianca Bellamy as Bianca. My reputation as a lesbian in the film industry took off. One of the smaller roles I had was actually me playing an open lesbian.
I got to speak on talk shows about it. Be open about myself. I even got to give a speech at Pride in West Hollywood. People had posted pictures of me on Instagram supporting me. I had successfully managed to get an army of screaming fan girls. Girls who actually had crushes on me. It was adorable. And I was still getting parts and roles. On commercials and TV shows. It was fantastic. But this sequel was the most important and was going to probably be even bigger than the original. And everyone onboard knew that.
I got the heads up that the film is a go and that everyone agreed to do it. That means that Amber is in fact coming back from New York and leaving modeling for a little bit. And that was three weeks ago, and one week ago I got the first part of the script mailed to me for me to read and memorize. And now, today was the big day. The day I went in to Paramount Studios, had the first read through with everyone, signed a bunch of contracts. That was today. Today was the day I saw everyone again including Amber.
"Give it to me! Now! I'm serious!" I laughed as my script was being taken from me. "Wow, you sound so serious." Violet was prying it from my grip. "Babe, give it now! I need to practice." "You've done nothing, but practice now, please just give me five more minutes to cuddle with my girlfriend." We were in bed together at her place which was this small little apartment in Irvine, California which was only like twenty minutes from my house. And it was down the street to her college UC Irvine. I usually spent weekends with her here and she was amazing to me. We've been dating ever since she gave me her number in the 1950s styled diner she works at. And she's wonderful, ballsy, cocky, spontaneous, and observant, I love her. Even though the both us are constantly busy. My fans loved her too. They really did. There were so many photos posted of us all over the place kissing, laughing, holding hands. The magazine really liked us too.
"Please stay longer. Please, I even have the disgusting kettle corn you insist is good. Right here. I'll even grab you more of it at the store today..." I grabbed the script from her grip. Violet then had picked up one of the bowls off of the nightstand. She buys it specially for me. "Quit trying to bribe me. And you won't even take a bite of it. Your regular buttery popcorn is sitting right there!" It was the other bowl on the nightstand. "Alright, alright you got me." "Look, I'm sorry I really gotta get to work. I can't be late on the first day. And you have to get to the store and then get started on your homework for your electromagnetics class, and study for your linear algebra exam." I sat up, left the script on the bed, and got up. "You excited to see everyone?" Violet asked sitting up as I was grabbing my clothes from the floor.
