The Engagement Party

Only just a month away before their upcoming wedding, the staff of the LA Fire Department decided to host a small engagement party for Jack and Claire. After a long night shift, Jack and Claire are packing away their stuff in their lockers, until they are approached by their fellow colleagues.

Fellow paramedic and Claire's best friend, Natalia came up to Claire. "Hey, Claire.", she replied. "Oh, hey Nat.", Claire replied. "What a long night?", Natalie sighed. "Yeah, I bet it is.", Claire smiled. Meanwhile, Jack at his locker, when fellow firefighter and his best friend, Kyle came up to him.

"Hey, man.", he greeted. "Hey, man.", Jack smiled. "What a day, huh?", Kyle asked. "Yep, it's been crazy!", Jack smiled, and the two guys share a laugh. "Anyways, I better get going, Claire is waiting for me outside firehouse. See ya tomorrow.", Jack replied, as he was about to leave, but Kyle stops him. "Uhh, before you go, there's something I want to show you.", Kyle replied.

"What is it now, Kyle?", Jack asked as Kyle takes him. "Come on, Claire.", Natalia replied, taking her. "Nat, tell me what's going on?", Claire asked. The two girls then bump into Jack and Kyle. "Jack?", Claire asked, as she saw him heading towards her with Kyle. "Claire?", he asked. "Ok, Nat, Kyle, tell us what are you two up to?", Claire asked.

Then, the firehouse break room's lights turned out and their fellow colleagues jumped up with a cheer. "Surprise and congratulations!", they all cried. "What's all this?", Claire asked. "Well Claire, It was mine and Kyle's idea. Since you guys are getting married in Hawaii, we decided to throw you a small engagement party for you.", Natalia replied.

"Guys! You shouldn't have.", Claire cried. "Thank you.", Jack smiled, as he hugs Kyle and Claire hugs Natalia. "Come on, let's get this party started!", Kyle called out and everyone started cheering and the engagement party begins. In the middle of the party, the Fire Chief propose a toast for the engaged couple.

"May I have your attention, please?", the chief asked, and everyone remains quiet and looks at the him. "I would like to propose a toast, to two of our amazing colleagues whose love for each other blossoms all of us, and we are happy and so proud to have them in this Firehouse. To Jack and Claire!", the chief replied, raising his glass of champagne in the air.

"To Jack and Claire!", everyone called out, raising their glasses of champagne together. Jack kisses Claire on the head, after raising his glass in the air. After a small party, Jack and Claire returns to their penthouse, where they ended up making out and eventually made love.

After making love to each other, Jack and Claire are resting in bed, Jack was thinking of something, whilst Claire is trying to take her breath, and notice he was thinking. "Jack?", she asked. "Hmm?", he asked, looking at her. "Are you ok?", she asked. "Yeah, of course. Why?", he asked. "You're thinking of something aren't you?", Claire asked.

"A little bit.", Jack smiled, pulling her close to him. "What were you thinking about?", she asked. "I'm just excited about, you know...", Jack replied. "Our wedding day?", Claire asked. "Yeah, I just can't wait to marry and call you my wife.", Jack smiled. Claire smiles at his words. "Me too, I can't to marry you and call you my husband.", Claire sighed, which made Jack smile.

"I can't believe the day is almost here, and soon we'll be starting a new chapter in our lives and what will happen for us in the future.", Jack replied, playing with her hair with his fingers. "Me too and I can't wait for us to start a new chapter in our lives.", Claire sighed. Jack smiles at her and they share a passionate kiss.
