The Rescue

It's been 8 months since Jack and Claire returned to the same island, that they got stranded on when they were just teenagers and those past 8 months, the couple did everything to survive and waited for a nearby helicopter, fly above the island. 

Claire is also heavily pregnant with Jack's baby, as her baby bump gets bigger and bigger, and she has been craving bananas and coconuts everyday. During her time of pregnancy, Jack has been always there by her side, and support her throughout those 8 months. 

One night, as Jack set up the bed for Claire in the shelter, Claire arrives back to the shelter, with bananas and coconuts in her arms. Jack saw her and quickly goes to help her. "Here, let me help you.", Jack replied, as he grabs the bananas and coconuts from her. "Thank you.", she smiled, holding onto her baby bump.

"How are you feeling, babe?", Jack asked. "I'm fine, just a bit difficult to carry things around. I feel like I need to go to the bathroom again!", Claire cried. Jack just laugh at her words. "Don't worry, just don't carry or lift anything, it's not good for your back.", Jack replied. 

Claire smiles and kisses him on the cheek. "What would I do without you?", she sighed. Jack smiled at her words and kisses her. "I'm gonna go and take a shower, I'll be back soon.", Claire replied as she walks away from the shelter and Jack pick up his spear and goes to the ocean to fish. 

That sunset, Jack returns from the ocean, and with some fish and other sorts of seafood, to cook for dinner. He return to the shelter and start making a fire. Meanwhile, Claire finish taking a shower at the waterfall, she dries herself up with a banana leaf and get dressed, as she was about to head back to the shelter. 

But as she walks back, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, and held onto her baby bump with severe pain. An hour later, Jack was cooking dinner on the fire, when he noticed that Claire hasn't returned from her shower yet, and he suspect that something wasn't right. He goes deeply into the rainforest to find her. 

As he walks deeply into the forest, he heard someone screaming, in pain. It was Claire, and Jack knew she is in serious trouble. Without hesitation, Jack called out her name. "CLAIRE!", he cried. She screamed again and Jack runs, following her cries. "Claire, where are you?!", he screamed, as he ran. "JACK!", Claire cried, from the distance. 

Jack ran and ran deeper until he found Claire, lying on the ground, in so much pain. "Claire!", he cried, as he runs to her aid. "Jack, the baby.", she sighed. Jack looks at her baby bump, as her hand was placed around the bump. "It's coming.", she sighed. Jack knew what that means, Claire is going into labor.

Suddenly, there was helicopter noises, heard nearby. "Is that?", he asked, as the noise of the helicopter gets louder. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Jack?", Claire asked. "Yep, it's time to get out of here!", he cried, as he wrap his arms around her body, lift her off the ground and carried her out of the rainforest and to the shelter, to retrieved the flare gun and other supplies. 

Jack carries Claire to the beach, as the helicopter flies above the island. Jack puts her down, but held her tight in his arms. "You got a flare bullet ready?", Jack asked. Claire puts on bullet into the flare gun. 

"Yes!", she cried, as the pain hits her. "Shoot it!", he replied. Claire looks at him, and they kiss, as Claire raise her arm up into the air and pulled the trigger and a flare pops out into the sky, getting the helicopter's attention. The couple wave their arms and screamed as the helicopter spots them, using their light. 

The helicopter lands on the sand, as Jack and Claire cries with joy and embrace each other. "You ready to go home?", Jack asked. "Ready as ever.", Claire sighed with a smile, as they share another kiss. They went into the helicopter, and finally left the island once again.

They return back to Honolulu, and were sent to the hospital, where Claire prepares to give birth to their newborn baby. Jack borrows a phone from the hospital to call his and Claire's families and friends, who were all together, back home, and everyone cheered with delight and joy that both Jack and Claire are found safely.

"We are so happy that you are safe.", Charlie replied over the speaker phone. "Thanks.", Jack replied. "And Claire, how is she?", Amanda asked. "We're at the hospital, and she's currently in labor right now.", Jack replied. This shocked everyone. "What?!", Hannah asked in shock. "Wait, Claire's pregnant?!", Crystal asked. 

"Yes, she is and she's in labor.", Jack replied. "We better get to Honolulu right now!", Crystal cried. "We'll be there as soon as we can, mate.", Sam replied. "Ok, but you guys may won't be here in time after the birth.", Jack sighed. "Then that's ok. We'll see you soon.", Dean replied, as the call ends.
