My name is Scarlett Moore me and my younger brother Ben Moore go to Brooklyn high in New York but live in a long hollow neighborhood but the school. we moved here one year ago but did not go to the same school.we have moved a lot since we were 5 we don't stay long in each place we stay 2-3 years then we move to some other place. Ben hates moving he stays locked up in his room for about 4 weeks and does not talk to our parents when they are home. Our parents are professors at st. Francis college. My mom teaches literature and my dad teaches music. they always come home pretty late so I have to cook for ben and help with his homework which he hates and he's not the type I would call friendly, he skips school to go hang out at big belly burger which a few blokes away from the school and hangs out with his so-called 'friends' his attendance is horrible he skips class every 2 days. but our parents don't know or do anything because they are so oblivious and are never here. They are so stuck to their work they barely say hi to us but when they do its short. they always have to go back to work it's like their life depends on it or ours. despite the oblivious parents, we have school tomorrow. I hear a bang then another 2 more I hear my brothers voice say in a raspy voice like he just woke up.
"get up hurry the bus is almost here' ben yelled."
"I'm up, I'm up" I responded.
I hear him exiting the hallway. I hurried to get out of bed (i don't bother to make up my bed) I first grab my glasses and then brush my brunette hair and throw it in a ponytail I throw a pair of jeans that look like they have been chewed up by a dog ( which we don't have) and threw on a blue and white striped shirt with a locket from my grandmother. she died 4 years ago it was hardest on my brother she always supported him when my parents did not. I ran downstairs grabbed my pain blue backpack which was at the end of the stairs. then went to grab a waffle. I already saw ben at the end of the driveway waiting for the bus which should be here in about a minute. ben was wearing a plain black shirt and some gray sweats he did not bother to brush his hair and it looked like a mop on his head, his backpack was a dark red. I ran to the end of the driveway and stood by my brother I started to say
"Thanks for-"
"don't expect me to wake you up every day, it's not my job.'
I respond with ' ok I just wanted to thank you.'
The bus drove up he got a head start I yelled to him "
"I owe you"
then I ran to the bus just in time all the seats were full except for one near the back. I sat down put my bookbag at my feet and grabbed my notebook. I sat back up after getting my notebook and pencil I flipped several pages and started drawing. I was an exceptional artist all my art teachers in my schools since forever always entered my drawings in art competitions and I would always win. we were at the school and I was putting my notebook and pencil in my hand and started to get up. once I got up and went down the isles of the bus then I tripped I looked up I did not see who tripped me but the guy who I sat next to did. he helped me up once I got up I got a good look of him he had blond hair it was short and kept to, he had brown eyes and square-framed glasses that were black. he was wearing a brown plain hoodie with blue jeans, he was wearing some black converse. I said
"t-thanks for that what happened" he responded
"Jenna ramming is what happened"
"who is she?" I asked.
"she what you would call your typical high school popular movie girl."
we got off the bus and he said,
"are you new I have never seen you here"
I responded with "yeah I don't know my way around the school."
