Even Stronger

After a month, the three teens had improved more than anyone thought possible. Every week, they would always check in with each other. Even they were impressed with their own improvement, but not satisfied. Obito wanted to be stronger, Kakashi wanted to be faster, and Rin wanted to be more skilled. Their teachers and therapists tried to talk them out of it, but their attempts were in vain. Obito would exercise more, Kakashi would practice more, Rin would study more. Over the course of the month, Obito was able to run, Kakashi could fight, and Rin completely understood the seal. They exceeded every expectation.
At the end of the month, Minato checked in with Tsunade. She told him they weren't cleared. None of them were cleared for combat or travel. Tsunade would have loved to grant their wish and clear them for active duty, but they were still mentally unstable. After some mental evaluations, Tsunade said it would be best to keep them off duty for another three months. Obito had PTSD and both Kakashi and Rin had GAD. The team was not fit to fight in a war.
After fifteen days, Obito was discharged. He was given a pair of crutches and sent home. He hated the crutches and refused to use them. Kakashi ended up carrying the crutches back to Obito's house. When they weren't individually training, they would usually spend their time together. Kushina invited them over for dinner several times. Minato trained Kakashi and Obito when he wasn't on the frontlines. Tsunade trained Rin harder than normal to make up for the time they wouldn't have together since she was going to fight in Kiri with the other Sannin. She challenged Rin to complete the seal by the time she got back.
When Rin had time off and and her teammates were training, she would volunteer at the hospital. After a few weeks, they had more and more ninja staying longer. She asked around to find out what happened. It wasn't because the war got harder. It was because they had lost their best physical therapist. He managed to get people fit and and in fighting condition in half the time others could. They lost a very valuable member of their team, Dan Kato. The next time she trained with Tsunade, they hardly got anything done. Tsunade was an absolute mess. She began drinking more and didn't function well. The following week, Nawaki Senju was killed in an ambush. Tsunade broke down at this point. She drank more than ever and took up gambling. Rin was basically working on her own now.
Kakashi had adapted to the point he had no issues by the middle of the second month. Obito had regained all his strength by the beginning of the third month. By the middle of the third month, Rin had achieved about half of the Byakugo seal. When their three months were up, they were just as strong, if not stronger than they were. They had gotten cleared by the Hokage for active duty. They were mostly sent on border patrol or civilian protection missions.
After two months, they were given B and A rank missions. They were stronger than ever. They received their first S-Rank since being taken off duty. It went smoothly and without issue. For the next six months, they got A and S ranked missions. They were glad they went through all their struggles because it made them even stronger. Rin had completed the Byakugo seal, Kakashi completely mastered his Chidori, and Obito mastered many Sharingan abilities. Obito learned to copy jutsu with his Sharingan shared his knowledge with Kakashi. He copied Minato's Rasengan during training and taught Rin and Kakashi. Rin helped Kakashi with chakra control so he could use Chidori multiple times. Obito would sometimes assist Rin with medical work since he could identify things so easily when he activated the Sharingan.
Kakashi and Obito met each other at Ichiraku. This was one of few days they had off this month. They both looked at each other, confused. Rin hadn't shown up yet. She was usually the first one to arrive. Rin hadn't told them she had other plans. They knew she didn't have any hospital shifts today. They were left very confused. They waited about ten minutes before getting worried.
"I got a bad feeling about this." Obito said.
"Yeah...you check her house. I'll check Minato Sensei's. Meet up here in ten minutes. Then, we check the hospital." Kakashi instructed.
"Yeah." Obito agreed as he ran towards Rin's house.
