CLARISSA'S POV

I play with the golden letter in my hands as I anxiously sit on the couch waiting for mum. She's still coming back from when she was looking for me, meaning I'm alone in a lounge with three very angry looking male wolves. A.k.a: dad, Jett and Dylan. The joys of being the only and youngest daughter.

"How could you be idiotic enough to go out into the woods by yourself without telling anyone?" Dad finally snaps, running his hands through his hair.

I snap my eyes to him and answer sharply, "Wasn't my choice."

Dad looks at me with wide eyes, leaning back in his chair. I've never really retaliated against dad or mum or even my brothers. I've just never had the intention to, but I guess I'm on edge from what's just occurred in the woods while I'm suffering from a concussion, which by the way, is still pounding behind my eyes.

Dad had noticed my delusionalness and gave me an ice pack for the headache. That was a while ago though, so the ice pack is warm and the headache is back. I just want a Panadol...

A sudden gust of wind and a banging of doors makes me wince, the ice pack falling from my head. Mum's home.

Mum isn't really the type to be angry when this stuff happens, so I wasn't really surprised when she burst into the room and engulfed me in her arms.

"Oh, my poor princess! Are you ok? Are you hurt? What happened?" Mum asks frantically, cupping my face with both hands.

"Mum, I'm fine. You need to sit down because I have a lot of explaining to do." I quietly mummer after reassuring her. Mum looks at me confused. My eyes flicker down to the golden envelope once again. Mum follows my eyes and removes her hand from my face. She nods hesitantly and takes a seat next to dad. I took the recliner while Jett and Dylan took a couch and mum and dad took the other couch.

I breath in and close my eyes, the pounding of my head making it hard to concentrate. I sigh and rub my forehead, deciding to just explain it as simply as possible.

"I was walking early to class when I heard a strange conversation. They were talking about the right time to get rid of something, but I can't really remember what because as I was walking passed the door, it opened suddenly and knocked me out. I woke up in the woods with a massive headache when dad started mind linking me. I'm sorry I worried you guys by the way, I didn't mean to." I say apologetically, ducking my head and playing with the envelope. Mistake or not, I hate to worry my family and friends.

"That's ok princess. At least we know you're safe now." Mum replies softly, giving me a small smile. Dad's looks begrudged about her words, but doesn't say anything, he just raises his eyebrows as a gesture to continue.

I smile back at mum before continuing, "I replied to Jett and Dylan's mind link, telling them I was north of the school. I was disorientated, but I was actually supposed to tell them south. By the time they found out, I had already been cornered."

Before I can continue further, three loud growls fill the room. I wince,  feeling the repercussions from the concussion. Mum shoots them all a look, making Jett and Dylan snap their mouths shut, but not dad. Never dad.

"What do you mean someone cornered you? Was it someone from the pack? Please, for the love of all that is holy, tell me it was someone from the pack. At least I know who it was then." Dad growls, tightening his hands into fists, his eyes darkening to an almost black colour. Mum quickly sits on his lap and buries her head in his neck. It seems to calm dad down a bit as he wraps his arms around mum tightly.

"Keep going, Clarissa. Your father didn't mean to interrupt." Mum's muffled voice sounds around the room. I nod, even though she can't really see me.
