The body of the dragon suddenly burned away. The only evidence of the hard fight they had endured was the scorch marks surrounding them. The Heroes were silent for a while as their minds processed what had happened.

What in Avo was that? Hammer finally asked.

The others stumbled around for an answer, but only Sparrow had any ideas.

It hardly matters now, Reaver finally replied, coming up with no viable answer. Its dead now, isnt it? He glanced towards the little bird for confirmation.

She gave a small nod. When I was dead. I saw visions of my great grandfather. Jack of Blades was obsessed with my bloodline and tortured his family over it. The mask sucked out his soul and I destroyed it. He can never come back now.

You were dead? Hammer questioned, glaring daggers at Reaver.

Sparrow gave a sad nod. How many times can this happen until she stays dead?

Reaver took a few steps towards her to give her some comfort. Hammer raised her weapon threateningly towards him.

Back off!

Garth surrounded himself with his magical swords, glaring towards the immortal man who caused Sparrow so much grief.

Wait, the Hero ordered, taking a couple of steps towards her captor, turned lover, turned betrayer.

What? He kidnapped you and tried to sacrifice you! Did sacrifice you! How can you be so calm about this?

In the end, Reaver tried to help me, Sparrow explained. And he regrets what he did.

The pirate shot the two a smug smile thinking he had won. He embraced the Hero, pulling away with a frown when she remained limp in his arms. He lifted her chin to get a better look at her neck. Only a light scar remained. He then pulled her shirt down to check her shoulder. The bullet wound was all healed up as well, leaving a small scar.

Reaver, Im fine, she told the Pirate king as his eyes drifted carefully over her.

No. Somethings wrong, Reaver pointed out.

Sparrow let out a sigh. When did he get so good at reading her? I cant stay with you.

The pirate looked at her in shock, pain lacing his nearly perfect face. Her hand reached for his face and lightly cupped his cheek. With a flash of light, his split lip and swollen cheek were healed. Even after everything, Sparrow still loved the pirate bastard.

You you cant leave me! Reaver argued, putting a hand over hers.

I know what my destiny is and I have to follow it. The world depends on it.

Then let me come with you!

She pulled her hand away and he watched her with a deep sadness. You cant. Im sorry, but you cant. I have to do this alone and I cant forget that you got me killed. I need time to forgive you, but I still love you. We will meet again in time, this I promise. Until then, this is farewell.

She flashed the pirate a sad smile at their depressing separation. Sparrow placed a chaste kiss on his lips before stepping away and turning her back to him. She started walking towards Garth and Hammer who wore confused expressions.

Sparrow! Please! Reaver begged, with the most emotion she has ever heard from him.

Her steps faltered. No. She has to do this. She has to do this for Albion and Aurora. She made it to the two heroes, not bothering to hide the tears wetting her sand-covered cheeks.

What has he done to you? Garth asked.

Sparrow sighed before walking past them. She would tell them later. Right now, she needed to get away from him before she changed her mind.
