Chapter IX

Lily's POV

"Can we take a break now?" I whine to my mom

We've been signing papers, steadying my posture, meeting children, going to different schools and homes.

"Plus I need to tell you something" she nods smiling as the limo starts moving

"What is it that you need to tell me, it sounds very important" she turns to me and I sigh

"I'm 3 months pregnant mom" she keeps looking at me smiling and soon tears roll down her face heavily

"It's a good thing that the school was our last stop because I'm a mess right now" I giggle at her and soon we start laughing

"I'm going to be a grandmother" she says then hugs me carefully but then she pulls back frowning

"Why are you frowning?" she looks at me

"You're pregnant and yet you didn't tell me until we finished this, why wait?" I sigh, oh this is why she's frowning?

"Because I miss working and from I came home I've been putting this off so I didn't want to put it off again plus today was supposed to be my off day with Jackson but as I said I didn't want to put this off again" she shakes her head at me while smiling.

"You haven't changed one bit Lilian" I raise an eyebrow at her questioningly

"From you were young and could talk, you've been hard working. Sometimes you'd lie to Melissa's mom, Monica, just so she wouldn't clean your room or cook for you" really? I did those things, I'm such a big girl.

"You were always so independent that I was afraid you'd abandon the throne when your time came because you'd always tell Dave to sneak you out to school and because he's your guard he'd obey you but stay by your side" I was truly loved but wait, where have I heard that name from before? Oh yes.

"Where is Dave now mom?" she smiles at me sadly

"He locked himself in isolation afraid to face us because he thinks he failed in protecting you" I sigh

"I want to see him mom, I need my bodyguard back" she smiles at me a lot more happier

"If you get him to come back then that would be great but good luck" I nod at her and soon we pull up to a good size house

"This is his house, the door is open so just knock twice then enter he'll know that it's one of us and again good luck sweetie" she kisses my cheek

"Thanks mom, I think I'm going to need it" Getting out of the car I make my way to the front door where I knock twice then enter

The house is dark but I can see around, nothing is moved and a figure is hunched over on a couch so I move towards the figure.

"Dave" he doesn't move so I stand where I am

"Dave, it's Lilian can we talk?" he looks up at me with his grey eyes, bags under his eyes and his shoulder sagging

"Sure princesa" his says with his thick accent

Sitting beside him I look ahead not really knowing where to really start.

"Look, it's not your fault that I got kidnapped Dave, I should have listened to you when you told me to always check my surroundings before going anywhere alone but I didn't because I was too excited to hide from Will but you were the one who protected me from birth, you took me wherever I wanted without saying anything to my parents, you were a father to not only me but also to my older brother so please stop blaming yourself plus I need you to always be there for me, protecting me and my baby" I rub my belly at the end only to see him look at my baby bump smiling softly
