Loud, heavy footsteps echo through the house. A shiver travels up his spine, it isn't from the cold. It is a hot summer's night.
The man has his hazel hair gelled to the side. He has slightly chubby cheeks that doesn't stand out much. His stomach also stuck out slightly from his white shirt. He carried his jacket on his arm. He is wearing black church pants and shoes.
He looks around. His legs move at a quick pace. His eyes wide with fear. He looks for something, anything that could frighten him. His eyes catch mine. I must terrify him. I smirk at him.
The man turns on his heel. He runs to the front door and tries to open it. The door refuses open an inch as the man pulls on it. "I locked it earlier." I say and take his keys out of my pocket. I spin it on my finger, still smirking at the man. The man looks at me. He blinks, his mouth is open as if in shock. His eyes once again scanning the area. He grabs a bag next to the shoe rack. The man breaks his window and tries to climb out. I laugh. "Damn, You're one crazy fucker." I say.
I walk to him. I grab his shirt and pull him back in. His head hits the glass underneath us. The glass crutches. He squeezes his eyes shut. There's already blood. The man groans in pain. He rolls onto his side. I bend down to him and hold the knife to his throat. "Where is he?" I ask. "Who is he?" The man asks, his voice shaking. "Derek! Where is Derek?" I ask again, but with more force in my tone. The man shakes his head. The blade cutting into his neck because of his stupid move. It is not deep so I could still interrogate him.
"I don't know where he is." The man says. I look into his eyes. He only has a look of fear, but that's understandable. I say. "If I find out that you know where he is. I will kill you. If you really don't know I won't kill you, deal?" I smile at the man. This is a bet that I'm going to win. I found him for a reason.
I grab him by his perfectly gelled hair and drag him on the floor, through the glass. We walk to his living room. I throw him on the couch. The man groans. I take his phone from the stand that's next to us. I sit next to him and smile. "Let's go through your contacts." I say. I swipe up and it is password protected. "2602" He says with a hoarse voice. "Thanks." I say and put it into the phone. He must be confident that he's going to live. I go to his messenger. I tap the magnifying glass and type in 'Derek'. The man groans in pain next to me.
"0 results." I read. I sigh. "Well, let me take you to the hospital." I say and offer him my hand. The man is hesitant. He looks at my hand before he takes it and stands. We walk outside. A loud sound catches my attention. I turn my head to face the sound. Red eyes peer at me. I smirk.
I drop the man in front of the hospital. He sighs in relief. His posture relaxes. He's happy to be alive. He steps forward and I whistle. He turns to look at me and collapses to the floor almost instantly. His blood spits in my face.
I laugh and say. "Wow, you're aggressive today, girl." I say and look at the beautiful thing that killed that man. She rips his head off with her teeth and returns to me. I pet her head. She barks, her red eyes curving at the bottom to show that she is happy.
Kiara and I climb into the car. Kiara is a robotic dog. I made her a few months ago and she's been helpful. Her body is covered with a plain metal coat which screws attaching large metal pieces. I turn to face her before I start the car. "Derek's still missing." I say. She whimpers, her ears going down. I smile at her response. "We'll find him." I say and her ears perk up again. I drive home. It's a long drive. I went to the end Of town to look for the now corpse man.
I pull up in the driveway and the neighborhood's dogs start barking. I sigh and take a handkerchief out. I wipe my face and turn to Kiara. "Stay in the jeep." I order and wipe the blood that's on her jaw. She doesn't move a muscle. I get out of the car and walks to the garage door. I grab the door and lift it up. "Hey, Dion." A feminine voice greets.
No one is inside of the empty garage, so I turn around and see a girl. The girl is short. She has long blue hair and is wearing a short sleeved white dress. She smiles at me. "Hey, Bonnie." I greet her. "Do you want to join us for dinner?" She asks and I look back at her house. It's dark outside, so the lights are on in her house. I could see her parents through the window. They hold a look that hopes I would say no. Bonnie's mother can't even look at me.
"I'd love to, but tomorrow is school, so I have homework and I need to sleep early." I lie to her. Bonnie looks upset, but nods. She flashes me a smile. "See you at school." She says, her cheeks red. I smile. "Yeah, see you at school." I say. She heads back to her house. I'll have to avoid her tomorrow. If that's even possible.
