Meeting Derek

School was boring as usual. Though I kept on wondering why Devon wanted Derek killed. Derek has done nothing wrong at all.

Bonnie waves her hand in front of my face. I grab her wrist and glare at her.

"Dion, the bell has rung. It's time to go home." She says. I look around. The classroom is busy emptying. I sigh and stand. I pack my bag and sling it over my shoulder.

"You're going to meet Derek with me, right?" She asks. I nod, I had completely forgotten that she was meeting him today.

"I can't be next to you so you'll have to call me and put on the speaker," I tell her. Bonnie fidgets with her fingers. Her cheeks become red.

"You're my knight in shining armor. Thank you, Dion." She says and smiles. My cheeks heat up.

"Whatever," I say, and Bonnie giggles. We leave the classroom.

We get to the gates when Bonnie's friends call her. I groan. They're so annoying. Francesca glared at me as she hugged Bonnie.

"Are you two going home together again?" She asks and continues glaring daggers at me.

Bonnie nods. "We're going to the Valley." She said and smiled. Francesca scoffs.

"Ew, he's not boyfriend material." She says.

I glare at her but ignore her. I could always kill her later if I wanted to. She doesn't know who she's messing with.

Bonnie waves goodbye to her friends and we walk to the road. I frown and glance at her.

"Give me your hand," I say and hold my hand out to her. Bonnie looks at my hand before placing her small cold hand in mine. I pull her closer to me and we cross the road. We get to the middle of the road when Devon calls from behind us.

I turn to face him. "Hey, pass on the car keys." He yells. I dig into my pocket and pull out the keys. I forget that I took the car today. My memory is going, which is not good. I make sure there's no upcoming traffic before throwing the keys to Devon. "Thanks!" He yells as he catches it and runs down the road.

Bonnie and I cross the road before I speak up. "The Valley is close by." Bonnie nods.

The Valley was a small café close to a park. It was peaceful I guess, I hardly went there.

We walked to the café and stopped a few feet away from it. Bonnie looked at the café. She bit on her lip. "I don't know if I should go in," she said.

I needed a disguise so that if Derek leaves the café he wouldn't recognize me. I took off my bag and bent down. I looked up at Bonnie. "It'll be okay. I'll be right outside if you need me." I said.

I take out my earphones and Bonnie nods. I find my school cap in my bag. I let out a sigh of relief. I close my bag and stand up. Bonnie is chewing on her lip.

"Put your phone on speaker and don't let Derek see. If I can hear what's going on you'll be much safer. He won't harm you." I reassure her. I cringe at my words. I'm going crazy. These emotions are bothering, I don't need to protect Bonnie and yet I want to.

Bonnie nods. She runs her fingers through my hair. Her face relaxes and she looks into my eyes. I blush and grab her wrist. "Don't," I say and put on the cap.

Bonnie smiles. "Okay, I'm ready. I trust you, Dion. See you in a few minutes." She says and walks away. I put my earphones into my phone and walk to a bench in the park. Bonnie calls my phone and I answer. I put my microphone so that he doesn't get suspicious.

There's shuffling at the end of the line. "Hi, Derek. Why did you want to meet up?" Bonnie asks.

I bite my lip as Derek takes a moment to reply.

"I wanted to meet up to tell you that you're the next victim of the killer. I want to protect you." Derek says.

"Who is the killer?" Bonnie asks.

"Dion," Derek said, not hesitating at all. I grit my teeth. This asshole, I hate him.

Bonnie shuffles and there's a bang. "You're lying!"

"I'm not and I have evidence. I'm going to the police with this evidence. I want you to come with me."

I open my mouth to talk, but I realize I'll look crazy. A man walks to me. He glances at my screen. I move my screen away from him and glared at him. He walks away from and I watch his back.

I return my attention to the call only to hear Bonnie hang up. I stand up and rush to the café. I look in and I don't see her at all. My heart raced. She couldn't get hurt.

I scan the area. My eyes land on her back as she turns a corner. I ran to her. I turn the corner and come face to face with Derek and Bonnie. Her eyes are a light red, an indication she cried.

"Hello, Dion," Derek says and smiles.

"Derek," I say and glare at him.

"Why are you here?" Derek moved his hand to his side. I refrained from blinking often to make sure I could watch his every move.

"I'm here to protect Bonnie," I say. He glares at me and my eyes widened as he pulls out a gun.

"Lies. You want to kill her like you've killed everyone else." He snarls. I shake my head. I glance at Bonnie. She is staring at me, I hope she doesn't believe him. Though she'll have to find out I'm a murderer sooner or later.

"No, It's the truth. Why do you accuse me of being a murderer? We were best friends." I ask and keep my eye on the gun. Derek rolls his eyes.

"We were best friends. You've changed," he says and pulls the trigger. I gasp in agony as the bullet goes into my leg. I collapse to the floor.
