June was actually having a pretty great time, but that probably had something to do with the amount of alcohol in her system. After she had been cut off by Kie she realized how absolutely unbearable this night was going to be if she was sober, so she excused herself to the bathroom, but really she was going and drinking glasses of rosé on the toilet. After quite a few glasses she made her way back out, feeling wasted but happy. Just as she walked out a guy whose name she couldnt remember asked her to dance and that's what she had been doing for the last hour.
She was really enjoying dancing with Sarah Cameron and unnamed guy. But suddenly out a nowhere she was grabbed away from unnamed guy, a whine escaping her lips and started slow dancing with someone else. When she finally looked to see who it was she gasped in surprise.
"JJ?" She said, excitement all over her face. He smiled at her, shushing her. He twirled her around and she giggled happily.
"How wasted are you right now?" JJ said, leaning close and whispering in her ear. June giggled again and then answered.
"This many." She held up nine fingers, confirming that she was long gone. JJ spun her around again and then pulled her back to his chest. June reached up, grabbing his face in her hands. She started to lean in to kiss him but he grimaced when she garbed his face. When he winced she noticed the bruises and cuts on his face that hadn't been there before.
"Who did that JJ?" She asked him, running beer fingers over the bruises. JJs eyes widened, he realized that June didn't know about his dad, what he did, and how he hurt JJ. And he wanted to keep it that way.
"From the movies remember?" JJ said, letting go of her hips and giving her a smile.
"JJ-"
"Sorry Carly but I have a secret mission to carry out." He said, turning away from her. He made his way towards Sarah to give her John Bs message.
"Wait JJ." June called after him , but he was gone. She got carried away in the music again, but her mind was still on JJ. A few minutes later she made her way to a seat, trying to wrap her mind around any thought but she was unable to.
"Look—look man I can walk myself. I got legs. can you see that brother?" June raised her eyebrows, her attention immediately averting from her wobbly thoughts and in the direction of JJ. She pushed herself off the chair, stumbling around to stand straight.
"I really appreciate what you did back there . Let me just walk myself out. Oh Mr. Dunleavy, I see you got your drink. Good that's really nice of you." JJ said, pointing finger guns as the guard continued to push him away from the party. June made her way towards JJ, using people's shoulder to make her way towards him. JJ downed Mr. Dunleavys drink, looking around the crowd. Everyone's attention was on him now.
"Hey let him go." June said, stumbling across their path. She turned around and pointed at the guard. "He didn't do anything." JJ raised his eyebrows at her.
"Wow she's really drunk." He said, trying to stop and start a conversation with the guard but the guard didn't fall for it, continuing to push JJ out.
"I really appreciate the discretion Daryl. It's okay everyone. No need to panic! Let's leave it to the men and women in uniform. Let's hear it for them! Rose! You look like lady liberty. Hey buddy can I have one of those?" JJ reached for a glass but it was pulled away from him.
