June was sitting on John Bs porch, her head rested against the back of the couch.
" You tired?" JJ asked, looking over at her with furrowed eyebrows.
"No I just woke up from a nap actually. And then I came here." June said, covering her mouth as she yawned. He nodded, giving her a once over before sending her a grin. The grin soon fell off his face as John B rounded the corner, Sarah in tow. Kies face instantly changed, her eyes squinting at John B in disbelief and anger.
"Oh shit." June whispered to Pope, whose eyes were already wide and awaiting the words from one of them.
"No effing way! You brought her here . So what she's in on this now?" Kie finally started, staring down John B and absconding any kind of contact with Sarah. John B looked over to Pope for help but Pope just shrugged, not knowing what to say.
"Look, all I care about is that her cut comes out of your share." JJ said, pointing towards John B and Sarah. June stood from her spot, JJ looking up at her before patting the spot beside him for her to sit. She squeezed herself in beside him, his arm going around her back.
"You know, I don't remember taking a vote. I don't remember taking a vote with June either. You just seem to bring people in on our biggest secret and then talk to us about not telling the secret. This is our thing. A Pogue thing." Kie said, gesturing towards June.
"All in favor of June joining say I. I." JJ said, looking towards Pope.
"I." Pope said, shrugging again. June nodded her head, a smile on her face knowing that she had been accepted in.
"I gotta say I'm just a tad bit uncomfortable with this." Pope said pointing between the three of them.
"Thank you!" Kie said.
"When are you not uncomfortable?" John B said defensively.
"I dunno . I rode here on the back of JJs bike pretty comfortably." Pope argued, adjusting his shirt.
"It's true. Most relaxed I've ever seen him." JJ backed him up, nodding along.
"That's cute guys." John B said, looking back to Kie as she started to talk again.
"You know we were all extremely comfortable until you brought her." Kie said.
"Stop talking about me like I'm not here." Sarah finally chimed in, looking up at the fuming Kie. June gave JJ a look as the tension built.
"Then leave." Kie said, glaring right at Sarah.
"I told you." Sarah turned to John B, less than happy at the turn of events.
"Told him what exactly? That you're a liar?" Kie said.
"No that you're a shit-talking bitch." Sarah said, earning gasps from Pope, JJ, and June.
"Oh shit." June said as JJ reached into his pocket pulling out some money. "My moneys on Kie." He said handing the money to Pope who was looking for his own. The two girls continued to argue and the two boys continued to bet on the situation, until John B snapped.
"Everybody shut up!" June's eyes widened at that, turning toward JJ and giving him the 'oh shit' look. JJ returned it, stuffing his dollar back into his pocket as John B continued.
