Chapter 11

After hours of sitting in the hallway and waiting for Alena to wake up from her deep slumber, the tardiness engulfed me.
To ease away some of my muscles, I decided to have a cup of dark coffee from the cafeteria.

Mum left with the Knights after a lot of persuasion. Everyone was tired to the core. I decided to stay back with Alena. Bella was somewhere down the hall, the doctors wanted to be confirmed that she wasn't in type of concussions and all.

There were only a few injuries on her hands and legs nothing much. Apparantly , her head was hit side ways and banged the window of the car. So, she was under observation for 12 hours although it wasn't necessary as per the doctors but Ryan wanted to be confirmed.

He even tried to stay back with her but Ariana asked him to leave. Ariana wanted to be with her for a few hours, she said Bella will only open up to her and probably she needs her more than a father.

I was worried about Alena but I don't know why I was a little worried for Miss Brat too. She seemed shaken aback from this accident. I have never seen her so acoustic. Her eyes were lost, gloomy and tired of crying. I never failed to notice her shaky voice when she spoke for the first time.
When they doctors announced about Alena's health, she lost it and fell to her grounds kneeling down. She cried loudly and Ariana grabbed her pulling her in a hug.
She then whispered Alena, that was the first word she said since I was at the hospital.
Seeing her in such a condition melted my heart. She needs someone to hold, I am glad Ariana was there for her all the while.

I wanted to calm her down but resisted myself from doing so. I know if I show any type of concern towards her, I might get away from my motive to be here.

I purchased a dark coffee for myself and two hot chocolates for the Knight Women . I know they might be tired too. I shouldn't be concerned about any of the Knights. I know, I wanted them to be in doom but somehow I was melted at this point. Melted to see that exhausting face of Ariana, melted to see that fear in Bella's bright eyes. All the colour was drained off her face, I wanted to be there for her just for this this one time. She needs me!.

I was about to knock at her door when I heard muffled voices from inside. Both Ariana and Bella were deep in a conversation.

"You won't say anything, Bella. Not right now he needs time to recover from this shock, darling. Let Alena be back. Wait for a few days. "

"But Momma, I was responsible for this. I almost killed her. "

I heard a sob thereafter. Ariana shushed her . I don't know what happened with them but if by any chance she was the reason for Alena's condition I am gonna kill her right away.

I took a deep breath and knocked at the door, entering it. Ariana and Bella were embraced in a hug, tears beaming down from both the women's eyes.

"Nick..." Ariana said blinking back her tears. She came towards me seeing the tray , she took that from my hands and placed it on the table.

"How's Alena?" She asked.

"She is same, Mrs Knight. Still in her slumber" I said never leaving Bella's eyes.

She nervously tried to escape from my piercing stare but failed.

"M...Momma... I would like to talk to Nick" she mumbled.

"Bella, I think you should give him a few days. You can talk later" Ariana said trying to make sense.

I can feel the thin air around us. I wanted to know the truth. Really wanted to know why does Bella blames herself for the accident.

"Momma, please." She pleaded with her puppy dog eyes.

Ariana nodded and took her hot chocolate, "I will be with Alena"
