Gureum

I was sitting across Mr. Kim as we discussed about the ToBe Project.

I still couldn't believe that we will actually do that nonsense project.

"Mr. Kim, no matter how hard I think of it, I couldn't see the sense of this ToBe Project. There are much better project proposals out there. Why this company robot thing?" I asked as frustration started to eat me up.

Mr. Kim placed his eyeglasses on top of his table and intertwined his fingers as he leaned towards me.

"Dr. Ji, you might not know but I am a very sentimental person. The purpose of this project really touched my heart unlike the other proposals," he said seriously.

I shook my head in disbelief.

This old man must be nuts.

"We could've rushed it as I am quite sure that the product will not last long in the market. I don't think it can actually attract customers. There are better projects that we should be spending more of our time, effort, and money," I complained to him.

He smiled at me and said, "Then launch those project ahead instead of the ToBe Project."

My eyebrows shoot up upon hearing his words as if making sure if he's serious or not.

But he kept the same smile on his face.

Wow. He's unbelievable.

I simply stood up and bowed to him before I left his office.

While I was riding the elevator to the underground parking lot, I was thinking of how stupid his decision was.

And Dr. Lee?

She looked like a little girl with a little brain.

A company robot? For sad, depressed, lonely people?

That's absolutely madness.

When I reached the parking lot, I went straight to my car.

I opened the door and sat inside. While I was putting my seatbelt on, someone started humming on the backseat.

I looked at them from the rearview mirror and saw that it was my sister with her usual outfit and her large black designer bag.

"Since when were you back here in Korea?" I asked and turned my back to see her properly.

She was wearing black shades and a cap. She looked like a goon.

"Just now," she said and popped a chewing gum inside her mouth.

"You look tired," I said.

"I am," she simply said.

"Let's have a dinner together. It's been a while," I said and turned on the engine of the car.

"But I have to leave for another country later for an unfinished business," she said and blowed her bubble gum until it popped.
