Jet woke up and looked at his watch — 6 AM.
He got up from bed, plodded out the door, through the gently curving corridor outside, passing by empty Ixtal quarters, and on to the common bathroom. He stripped and willed the room on. Water Element with a tinge of Fire Element fell from the ceiling as warm rain, and Air Element vibrated ultrasonic waves over him, breaking up and shaking loose whatever dirt and grime were on his body.
Minutes later, Jet returned to his room, got dressed, slung his bag over his shoulder, and walked to the Ixtal Temple's main hall downstairs.
Jet stood in the middle of the hall, before a 10' by 5' blue-gray marble tablet with a large golden disc on its upper half. He closed his eyes and meditated, entering the Great Silence.
Jet walked out of the main hall an hour later and floated up through the center gap of the main spiral stairwell, to the Observatory ten stories above.
Four white marble Arches stood opposite each other across the Observatory's circular room, the transparent ceiling above showing the stars outside.
He took out the Ixtal Map, raised it before an Arch, and through the crystal, summoned a portal to a matching Arch in the Ixtal Temple in Universe 8361's Earth system.
In the months following his encounter with Ptolek, Jet was still looking for his home-Earth, but at least he would have breakfast in an Earth without the pandemic in the meantime.
