Everything went black. Sophie remembered. She remembered everything. From the time she was born until now. Every memory was right there, struggling for a spot in the front of her brain. She remembered when she was only three, there was a power outage on her street. All the lights went out. She was scared. She clung to her mother like a magnet. Amy, just a tiny baby, was crying in the background.

"It's gonna be alright Sophie. Everything's going to be okay."

The scene shifted. She was in a room. Everything was pitch black. She was going in and out of consciousness. Her entire body hurt. She had been tortured.

"Where is the black swan?" A mans voice asked. She was too drugged to hear it clearly so the voice was distorted.

"Where are they?!"

The blurry figure reached out his burning hand and squeezed her arm.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh"

Sophie screamed and light surrounded Sophie in a blue glow before all light returned to the room.

Sophie saw Marinette double over like she was being attacked from the inside out.

"Marinette? Are you okay?" Sophie asked. That's when she realized the knot of emotions below her ribs were completely depleted. She had accidentally released them all on Marinette.

"I- I think I'm okay." Marinette said, her voice weak. " But what was that?"

"I'm sorry I didn't mean too I'm so so sorry I- I should go." Sophie said not able to fully express how sorry she truly was for hurting a friend.

" wait" Marinette said grabbing Sophie by the shoulder before she left the room

"What is it?" Sophie asked, harsher than she meant with tears in her eyes.

"Your pendant. It's beeping. That must be your superpower."

Marinette was right. Her pendant was beeping.

"Okay then obviously it can't be my name." Sophie said wiping the tears from her eyes.

"Then how about, Dark Lark? Or Moon Swan?
Or..."

"I don't know Marinette" Sophie interrupted. But I need to go before I hurt you again.

"But Sophie-"

"I'm sorry Marinette." Sophie turned away from the blunette before detransforming and leaving the room.

When Keefe got back to the Agreste mansion, he headed straight to his guest room. He had made a cozy spot there with beanbags and blankets. He had everything he needed but something was missing. Or someone.

He needed to think. Sophie. Miraculous. Superhero. He thought trying to put the pieces together like a puzzle in his mind. I'll never be good enough for her now. She has all these powers. She's even a superhero now. I don't even have any real powers. I'm just a disappointing empath who can't live up to his legacy. Maybe I should-

A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.

"It's Adrien. May I come in?"

Keefe didn't answer but the concerned blonde entered the room anyway. Adrien sat down on the chair opposite of the bean bag Keefe was lounging in and Plagg flew out from his shirt pocket with a wedge of cheese.

"That reeks" Keefe said laughing trying to use laughter to suppress his emotions.

"Ironic an empath of all people is the one to hide his own emotions." Adrien said remembering their conversation when he was Chat Noir in the school roof.

"How did you-"

"Been there done that. Still do. You gat daddy issues too?"

"Tell me about it. Though the mommy issues might be worse in my case."

Adrien seemed to understand.

"So, how did you know?"

"Know what?"

"When you saw me at the battle. How did you know who I was?"

"How does everyone else not? I mean humans are so dense you could dress up as Chat Noir for Halloween and no one would notice that you're actually him."

"I know your elves, but it sound weird when you call us humans like your not one."

"I know. I should probably get out of that habit before anyone else notices."

Adrien was about to agree but before he could the doorbell rang. Adrien wondered who it was. They didn't get many visitors. Maybe it was Nino.

They heard a knock on the door a few minutes later.

"Hello? The woman who answered the door told me you were in here. We need to talk."

It was Sophie's voice. The elf who had created the miraculous.

"Come in." Keefe said.

She trudged in the room like an elephant seemingly ashamed of something but to Keefe, she looked like an angel gracefully gliding his way.

"What is it?" Keefe asked with a slight hint of a blush on his face. "Did L- Marinette kick you out or are your new superpowers too much to handle?"

"Ugh"

By her groan and lack of response, they assumed it was the latter.

"Can we not talk about it?" Sophie asked.

"Okay but-"

Keefe didn't get to finish his sentence before there was a loud bang in the distance. Light erupted from where the noise originated.

"She knows right?" Adrien asked Keefe assuming Sophie also knew who he was.

"Obviously. I still don't see how hum-Parisians are so dense."

"Nice catch." Adrien said noticing his change in word choice. I guess it's time to test out those powers of yours he said looking at Sophie.

The girl in question let out another groan.

"Plagg claws out!"

"Luna feather out!"

Keefe barely had time to stare in awe before the two superheroes jumped out the now open window.
