"That is not true! Africa by Toto is the best song on earth!" Richie said, taking a drag of his cigarette."Wrong, my dear Richard, Don't stop believing by Journey is by far, the greatest." Beverly stated, lighting her own cancer stick.
Eddie had begged Richie to come to the "secret clubhouse", and practically jumped with joy when he said yes.
"You guys are going to burn this place down with those." Stan said, handing out shower caps.
"What the dick is this?" Richie asked when Stan tried to hand him one.
"Its so you don't get spiders in your hair"
"Stanley, I'm not afraid of fucking spiders"
Stan rolled his eyes at Richies comment, and moved on to give Bill his shower cap. Richie watched in amusement when the ramen haired boy blushed when Bill thanked him.
"Did you guys get invited to Betty's party tomorrow?" Ben asked, trying to fix one of the support beams (i hope thats what its called 🙃)
"Yea. I don't really want to go though. Drunk teens making out every chance they get isn't something I wanna see." Eddie said, flipping the page of his comic book.
"Please come Eddie speghetti! Somebody has to keep me safe from doing something stupid!" Richie pleaded, sitting on one knee for dramatic effect.
"He has a point" Stan snickered, flicking the cigarettes out of Richie and Bev's hands. "No more smoking." He glared at them.
Bev scoffed, and Richie just rolled his eyes and sat in the hammock.
"I'm hungry, can we go to the diner?" Mike asked, rubbing his tummy.
"S-sure, last o-one there has to p-p-pay!" Bill yelled, already climbing up the ladder.
Everybody sprung to their feet, racing to their bikes. Bill was already peddling fast down the street, yelling at the losers to hurry.
Richie followed soon after, followed by Mike, Bev, Stan, Ben, and Eddie.
When they got to the diner, they found a booth that fit all of them and made small conversation.
The waitress came by and gave them their menus, then left to get their drinks.
"Ok, so Betty's party is Saturday, we should all get ready together!" Bev exclaimed, a smile beaming on her face.
"W-we can get r-r-ready at m-my house" Bill stuttered, earning a small yea from everyone except Richie.
Richie had been pretty silent the whole time, lost in thought of what his father would say about him going to Betty's party. He most likely wouldn't care, and if he said no Richie would sneak out anyways.
"Are you gonna come Rich?" Mike asked, as everybody's attention turned to the raven haired boy.
Richie looked at Eddie, and Eddie nodded his head, encouraging him to go.
"Yea, I'll come." He answered, putting a smile on Eddies face.
The group got their drinks and discussed what they were getting, and Richie just looked at his lap while his stomach growled.
"You sound hungry Rich!" Ben chuckled. "Whatchya gonna get?"
"I-i didn't bring any money," Richie said, flipping his pockets inside out to shoe the lack of money he had.
"I can pay for you." Mike offered, nudging the menu closer to Richie.
"Its really fine, you don't need to-"
Richie got cut of by Mike shushing him and handing him the menu. After the losers got there food, they munched while talking about Betty's party.
Richie ate rather quickly, knowing he might not get another meal like this in awhile. After awhile the others noticed, and they gave Eddie a
"why is he eating so fast" look.Eddie looked sad, and he nudged some of his fries closer to Richie.
Richie looked at him confused, but then saw the weird looks from the losers as a sick feeling sunk into his stomach.
He started to eat slower, taking small bites so he could occasionally say something in the conversation.
Soon it was time for everyone to go home, and Eddie and Richie walked down their street talking about random stuff.
Soon they reached Richies house, said their goodbyes, and Richie made his way upstairs without making a sound and plopped on his bed.
He was slowly drifting to sleep when he realized,
He was officially part of the losers club.
