city of the night (2)

cityscapes

something i have always ignored

unseen, as it retreated back

into the crevices of my peripheral

as i focused on trivial things

the beauty of it, i started to behold

the simple, but elegant

art of city lights hitting the reflection

of the sea, as the warmth of the yellow rippled in the water like zigzags

fading into a single point--until it is just the nothingness of the sea

the golden and the yellow twinkles

remind me of stars

i can gaze at it for as long as i dare to

dreamy and intoxicating

these elements of art

that seemed so unrefined and plain as i routinely observed without a second thought

suddenly come together in harmony and become my fantasy
