WILL:I tie the laces of my black air forces, grab my house keys from the bowl on the brown side table and walk out of the door.
Sam only lives a few streets over from my house so ever since we were little we would constantly be at each other's house. She's always been a big part of my life, for as long as I could remember.
I was walking for a few moments before I reached her front door. A few knocks later, she was at the door in her pyjamas, mid-yawn with a hand tangled in her inky locks.
Her eyes widen with shock as I hadn't told her I was going to come.
"Will, wow good morning", she says as another yawn escapes her mouth. She looks down as if looking at her watch to see that she hasn't even put it on yet.
"Is there a reason you're here this early on a Sunday morning?", she says as she lazily waltzes into the kitchen.
I close the front door behind me and start walking down the hall toward the kitchen.
"Yes actually, I'm taking you out for the day", I say grinning with excitement. I had been planning this trip for a week now, even though Sam liked planning surprises for others she didn't like receiving them. So I always went out of my way to surprise her every few months, just for the fun of it.
"Will, now where are you taking my sister for the day?" Arian butts in as I enter the kitchen unaware of his presence. The two of them are sat at a small table in the kitchen, sipping on a toasty coffee.
I go over to him and bump his shoulder with my fist so that he is aware of my close proximity. He has his tattoo clad arms crossed protectively across his chest. I begin whispering the details of the plan in Arian's ear so that Sam is unable to figure out what I had been arranging for the last few days.
As Arian chuckles, Sam looks over at me with a sleepy face and a hint of annoyance. I grin playfully at her, relishing in her comical frustration. I really liked these light-hearted moments where we acted like kids, she always made me laugh.
I continue briefing Arian on the plan, purposefully taking long in order to further irk Sam. She rolls her eyes as she steps forward closer to us in order to hear my plan. I abruptly stop and she huffs with irritation.
"Will, you know that I don't like surprises", she says whining.
"And that's why I plan them", I say mischievously as I tap her nose.
"But I have so much work to finish!" She groans.
"Actually Sam, I really think you should go", Arian interrupts before Sam can complain any more.
I smirk at Sam and see that small crease forming in the middle of her forehead, just above her eyebrows. She would always have that crease when she sulks or when she would be angry. Even though she's sulking, I know on the inside she's nervously excited for the surprise. She's just being Sam.
"Ugh, if you say so", she says as she walks up to Arian and flicks him on the forehead. The cheeky smile returning to her lips.
"Hey!", he yells reaching out to grab her but she's already running up the stairs.
"We need to leave in the next half an hour!", I shout from the hallway.

A hour later, Sam and I are both sitting at the back of a cab. Sam is wrapped in a black coat, staring out of the window as rain drizzles from the sky. She nervously fidgets out of impatience, picking at her lips.
"Hey, stop that", I say pulling her fingers from her lips.
"Sorry, I'm just nervous", she says softly.
