chapter nineteen

I had dozed off while watching movies but woke up from three people yelling downstairs. "WHAT'RE YOU DOING HERE?!" I hear my uncles voice boom. "I came to see my daughter!" a voice shouted back and I felt tears escape my eyes. I run out of my room and down the stairs and burst into the kitchen. Just as I predicted my mother was standing in front of my aunt an uncle. "Mum?" I say, my voice soft and weak. "Y/N. Love hello." my mother said trying to hug me but I backed up. "What's going on?" James asked walking into the kitchen rubbing his eyes but his voice trailed off as he saw my mum. "Aunt Eleanor?!" he said before looking at me. "W-what're you d-doing h-here?" I ask as my voice broke. "I came to see you sweetie." she said sounding all innocent "Wow, the great Eleanor Potter came to FINALLY visit  her daughter after 8 years! Will I have to introduce my self again? Hello I'm Y/N Euphemia Potter a pleasure to meet you!" I say making the sarcasm extra visible in the last sentence. "Now Y/N don't you dare treat me that way!" she yelled and I scoffed "You want me to treat you like royalty after you left me and my father!? You broke my heart that day mum and if you expect me to forgive you after you write ONE letter and show up here you have another ting coming for you!" I yell as tears spill out of my eyes "Your father would be very ashamed of you." she growled and my eyes widened "No he wouldn't! If anything he'd be proud of me standing up for myself! I've done nothing but make sure to make him proud since he died and I will not let someone who was supposed to be there for me tell me he'd be ashamed of me! I've been very well on my own without you and if you think that waltzing in here trying to act like a sweetheart will fix everything you're very wrong! You broke us that day mum. I haven't had a parent since I was 9 and I'll be damned if you come here after 8 years trying to finally be the mum you were supposed to be! I've done everything in power to be strong since the day you walked out on us and you know what? It's made me a stronger women and that's all thanks to you. That's the only good thing you've ever done for me and I want it to be the last." I hiss at her and she looks very mad, like McGonagall after I stole her favorite hat. "No daughter of mine will talk to me like that. I'm glad I walked out on you, you've turned out very awful." she said and I smiled "Well thank you for that information. It's safe to say you don't have a daughter anymore." I say and my aunt takes my mother's arm "You need to go Eleanor. You've caused a lot of trouble." she hissed and she led my mother out. "BYE MUMMY!" I yell and I turn to my uncle and James with fresh tears in my eyes. "That was awful." I sob and my uncle hurried to me and hugged me. "She doesn't deserve someone like you. You're better off without her." he whispered and I nodded. All the others walked in and they looked upset "There goes 8 years of strength down the drain." I say and James takes me from my uncle holding me arms length away "I will do everything I can to make sure you get that strength back. You can't let her ruin you that easy." he said and I just nodded. "Well everyone shows over. Go back to bed." my Aunt said coming in the kitchen a look of hatred written on her face. I walk past everyone and hurry up to my room and immediately go under my covers. "Hey." Remus said softly sitting by me "I knew it was way to good to be true. I knew she didn't care about me." I mumble and he shakes his head "You didn't deserve that. You are very strong for dealing with that." he said and I chuckled "Wish I was. All that talk was something that just came out but look, I'm a mess." I say pointing to the tears falling out of my eyes still. "Well the tears only prove how strong someone was and how much stronger they'll get." he says taking my hand into his and I smile at him. "You're amazing Remmy. Absolutely amazing." I said and he smiled "I know. Now get over here." he said opening his arms and I get up and hug him tight. I feel him smile against my hair and I sigh "Now let's get back to sleep." I whisper and he chuckles "I'm very happy with that plan."

I walk downstairs the next morning and everyone is already eating breakfast. I sit next to Peter and everyone looks at me. "I'm fine." I say softly "Your eyes are too puffy for you to be fine Piggie." Sirius said softly. "Fine you caught me. I'm not fine." I say leaning back in my chair. "Is there anything we can do?" Lily asked and I shrugged "Get me a better mum." I grumble and my aunt sighs "I didn't know she'd show up, she just did. If I could beat her I would." she said and I giggled "It's okay auntie. You didn't know." I say and she nodded. I played with my food while everyone else at while thoughts swarmed my head. Did she really not love me. Was she happy she left me. Is she even the littlest upset. "Y/N eat." Peter said nudging my side. "I'm not hungry Wormtail." I say quickly pushing my plate away and rubbing upstairs to James room. I start tearing is room apart looking for a picture of my mum. I start to look under his bed and the door opens "What the bloody hell are you doing?!" James yelled looking at the mess I made. "I'm looking for a picture of mum." I mumble getting off the ground and going to his dresser. "Why?! Hey stop!" he yelled grabbing my arm and looking at me like I'm crazy. "I'll clean it I just need a picture!" I scream trying to get my arm from his grip. "Hey crazy, listen to me I'll get you one just. Clam down." he said and I nod. He went over to his desk and pulled a picture out and slowly handed it to me. "Scissors." I growl and he grabs them and hands them to me and I start to cut the picture up. After I finished I looked at him and he looked worried. "I'm fine." I say still very mad. "Listen Y/N I know you're mad trust me I get it but please try to not let this get to you. Please." he said and I sigh "Fine. I'll try but no promises. It hurts like a lot." I say and he hugs me. I hug him back and he rubs my back "I know it hurts Y/N. But you're strong and I know you'll get through it. You're the strongest Potter in the family." he said and I chuckled "Don't let cousin Ari hear that." he laughed "Trust me I won't. Go lay down, clear your mind, clean my room later." he said and I lean back and shake my head "Okay I'll go lay down clear my head and I'll get to that room cleaning later." I say and he nodded chuckling. I left his room and went to mine to see Remus laying on my bed reading a book. I sit at my desk and look at him meeting his eyes "I may have destroyed James room." I say trying to not laugh. Remus raised an eyebrow and I started giggling "I was mad! I wanted a picture of my mum!" I said and he just nodded. "You seem in your thoughts Lupin what's up?" I ask playing with one of my quills. "I like this girl, and I really want to ask her out but I don't know how to. Can you help me?" he asked and I felt my heart drop "Yeah I'll help!" I say and he nods while smiling "So what do you personally like? I'm asking so I can get some ideas." he said and I nodded "I'd love to go to Hogsmede. The first three weeks after christmas the Three Broomsticks still has decorations and it's beautiful! I'd also love some roses and definitely a peaceful stroll down Hogsmede last curfew, since you are a Prefect you won't get in trouble." I say and he nodded "Great! Thank you!" he said and I smiled sadly "Anytime Rem. Now move I want to lay down." I say and he nods before getting up. The rest of the day I spent being absolutely lazy, and I never cleaned James room.
