Kaito is an average inkling bored with life and the main protagonist of this story. He doesn't know much of his past, since he has accidentally forgotten most of it. He doesn't like/want fame. He likes his life being quiet and peaceful. Due to him being such a bummer and a "loner", people of the Kensato gave him the nickname "Taikutsuna" or boring. However, he does have some friends. Also, there's an unseen side of him and it's dangerous. He's very skilled, although he doesn't know how he became that way.

Yoshiko is Kaito's childhood best friend. She's very chirpy and persistently supportive of Kaito, she helped him during his tough times and would always hangout with Kaito. But for some reason, she likes it and blushes whenever he's near her.
