Ezra laid down staring at the ceiling, fiddling with the lamp switch. He could not sleep. Not a surprise since sleep had become an extravagance.

While in the mornings he kept himself occupied, during the night his mind would go back to that green-eyed girl with temporary red colour hair.

However, it would be a complete lie if he said he did not think about her during the day. He would often find himself standing by the garden, watering her plants and speaking to them about their her.

As days passed, he fell into the same lethargic monotonous routine. Work. Gardening. Sleeping. Eating. Funny, how every corner of his house, including his room, was bathed in the scent of her memories.

His family was getting worried about his lack of enthusiasm. Sarah nearly ended up calling Lilah. All Sarah wanted was for her to come back to his brother. And if there no longer existed a future, just cut it off openly. No unspoken words. No lasting glances. Just clear-cut goodbye.

But Lilah had given Ezra hope. And in that hope, he suffered.

Though as a week passed by since her leaving, and there was no phone call or text from her side, he started doubting himself, whether he read too much into it.

So, the night switch continued making sounds as he tried to overpower the self-doubt creeping in him.

What if she found he was not worth everything?

What if she forgot about him?

Or worst, what if there was no us, to begin with, and it was just a summer fling for her?

But before he could continue with those unpleasant questions, he heard what appeared to be the sound of pebbles hitting his window.

At first, he thought he only imagined it, his conscience's vain attempt at cancelling out the noises in his head, but when the hitting didn't stop he got up from the bed to check.

As he lifted the window, he stood stupefied.

"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?"

"Juliet? Uh... Uh... Lilah?" He stuttered.

Lilah stopped her dramatic searching to look up towards Ezra, grinning, "Hey there Romeo!"

"Lilah! It's really you? What are you doing here?"

"Not the welcome I was expecting but come on outside and you'll see."

He shook his head unbelievingly and went downstairs.

As soon as he opened the front door, he was greeted by her outstretched arm. He gingerly placed his hand in hers and she led him towards the garage.

In front of him, the garage was open and the bike prepped to leave.

"How did you open the garage?"
