"What Was My Name?"

Theo's birthday came.

He won't be having that much of a big celebration since the guy doesn't like to celebrate his birthday. He told me he'd rather spend the day with me than to spend the rest of the day with his family. So I woke up early to bake him a cake. Just so I could surprise him.

Alam ko naman na 'di ako magaling magluto pero meron lang akong alam kung paano. So I tried my best, I woke up early to bake — I did some research last night kung paano — and I'm also lucky that there were enough ingredients at home.

Nang matapos akong magluto, I woke him up with a kiss on his cheek. "Good Morning." I whispered. Agad kong tinakpan ang kaniyang mga mata at nagsalita ng, "Happy Birthday Mister Angeles." Ani ko rito.

Theo woke up with a smile. "Why am I blindfolded?" He asked me.

"Secret." Natatawa kong sagot sa kaniya.

"BDSM?" He asked me.

Napairap na lamang ako. "It's a surprise Theo." I tutted. Hinila ko na ito papatayo at sumunod naman ito sa akin papalabas. But instead of him holding my hand, he held on to my waist instead. "Sa'n mo ba ako dadalhin?" He asked me.

"Secret nga." Inis kong sagot sa kaniya.

'Di na ito nag-abalang magtanong ulit at sinunod na lamang ako. When we reached the dining area I told him, "Okay, you can take the blindfold off now." I ordered him as I hold the cake in front of him.

I did my best to bake him a strawberry shortcake, with 20 candles on top of it, to signify the year he already has. Nakita ko namang inalis na nito ang blindfold at labis itong nabigla sa surpresa ko.

"Happy Birthday." I greeted him with a smile. 'Di ito makapagsalita dahil sa gulat.

Pero napalunok naman ito. "Blow your candles now." Utos ko sa kaniya.

"After this can you blow me too?" He asked me with a smug. Napakurap naman ako sa sobrang kahanginan ni Theo. I was taken aback so I opted for a snort instead.

"Theo." Saway ko sa kaniya. Tumawa lamang ito atsaka ginulo ang buhok ko.

"Ikaw talaga. 'Di mabiro." Ani Theo. "Did you bake this for me?" Tanong niya sa akin.

"I did. I know it's not that fancy but I did my best." Kasi ang cake na ginawa ko ay simple lang naman, there weren't any designs, it's just covered in white icing fixed with 20 lit candles. "Blow your candles na." I smiled at him.

Ngumiti lamang ito sa akin atsaka hinipan ang mga kandila. "Thank you." Ani Theo sa akin at ngumiti ulit.

"Ba't ka ngiti ng ngiti?" Naiilang tanong ko sa kaniya.

"It's just that I can't believe you'd have the trouble baking a cake for me when you could just buy one."

"Ayaw mo ba sa effort ko?" I snorted.

"No." He squinted his eyes on me. "Of course I do. And I'm thankful. Really." Bawi nito sa akin. Nabigla na lamang ako nang kumuha siya ng icing ng cake at ilagay sa mukha ko.
