I woke up tied to a cold metal chair. A rope circled my body before being knotted at my wrist. I tried to shimmy, the metal chair scraping against the ground. I looked around.
It was an old empty room with just me in a chair and a small metal table with wheels. It was too far to truly tell what was on the table.
I continued to shake, trying to do anything to escape until I heard a voice. It was smooth, and dark, like black silk sheets.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
My breath stopped. I knew exactly who it was. It was him. It was Theo.
He stepped out from the shadows. Tall, thin, pale skin. A sharp jaw and green eyes that were hooded. His shaggy dark brown hair fell over his ears. He wore just a simple white tee and black jeans, he looked so normal yet unreal. Like he was supernatural.
He stepped close, leaning slightly against the table.
"Piper. Piper. Piper. You know, when Melissa Harrington called me up saying she needed a favor, I was delighted to help her. We go way back you know. Even more than you. She's practically sister. So imagine my complete and utter heartbreak when I heard what you did to her. Quite sad. She loved him, well, as much as a person can love someone that they send to be killed but, you get the gist right?" He paused, waiting for an answer. He came closer.
"Not the talker huh? Well, that's okay, your future screams will make up to that. So, of course, I'm shaken for a dear friend but I'm also thirsty. Bloodthirsty."
He stalked over to my bad arm's side, his breath against my skin.
"No one gets to hurt her and get away with it. A stab in the back-" I yelped as he took his finger and dug into my bullet wound. It stung like hell, bringing tears to my eyes.
"-warrants for another stAB-" He jabbed again at it, resulting in me holding in a whimper "-in the back."
He finally removed his finger, wiping the blood on my face. He then grabbed my face, clutching my cheeks between his fingers, staring me dead into his eyes.
"Oh, you're gonna regret the things you did. You're in Theo's hands now." He whispered. He took his finger, still with remnants of my blood, and stuck it into his mouth, sucking on it like a lollipop until it was clean. He smirked.
That smirk. That smirk reminded me of Ryan and his smirks. Ryan...the bracelet. As soon as Theo walked away, I ripped the bracelet off my wrist with one hand and opened the tiny knife. I started cutting at the rope as he continued his villainous speech.
"Now, in another life, I was a surgeon, but alas, in this one I just a little boy with a love for the human body. I love the outsides, I love the insides..." He went behind the table and started pushing it towards me, "...think of me as a Christopher Columbus type, exploring unchartered lands. Except for instead os ships, I have scalpels, and instead of land, I have you."
As I continued to cut the rope, I finally saw what was on the table. Knives, tools, things that can poke and churn and stab. All of them were bloody.
"Excuse their appearance, their a little used after the last visit. Note to self, Ethan is quite the kicker."
"What did you do to him," I said. My words took him by surprise.
"She talks! How lovely. And to answer your question, not much. Just a little souvenir on his chest, some carving if you know what I mean." He winked before licking the blood off of the scalpel like cake batter.
"You're sick."
"Thank you."
He moved to me, whispering in my ear. "I can get even sicker than that."
Before he could do anything else, I headbutted him. He fell backward into his table, each instrument tumbling across the room to the floor as I released myself. I grabbed a knife off of the ground. He grabbed one too. We both stood, standing off.
"You wanna play? We can play."
I lunged as him but he swiftly dodged the attacked. I stared at him, waiting for his next move. Instead, I decided to take my chances, trying to stab at him again, but failing again. Suddenly before I knew it he jumped at me slicing my arm. Fuck.
With that split second, I found myself pinned against the wall with a knife pointed at my neck, my own knife on the ground. His other hand gripped my neck, my air passage closing tightly.
"Oh I can't wait to-" I kicked him in the balls and he faltered falling to the ground. I cough and sputtered as he groaned. I tried to grab for another tool but he stopped me, and instead, he punched me in the gut. Instead of going for me, he watched me, struggle. He liked to see my pain. I spat blood into his face. He tumbled back, distracted, and that's when I took my chance.
I grabbed the metal chair and swung it hard at him knocking him to the floor. I grabbed a knife on the ground but as soon as I did he stabbed my ankle. I yelped falling to the ground.
Suddenly he jumped on top of me, his face in front of mine, his body on top of mine. He looked as if he was going to kiss or kill me, but he paused, watching me. He waited for me to look scared, but I didn't, and before he could calculate why I wasn't scared, I stabbed him in the gut.
I flipped us both, me on top of him, still holding the knife lodged deep into his gut. He was frozen, his neck twitching. Blood trickled out of his mouth.
I yanked the knife out and stabbed again. And again. And again. Each time leaving his body jerk. The blood-stained his shirt entirely.
As his face lost the little color it had, I knew I was running out of time. With my bloody hand, I grabbed his face, much like he did to mine.
"Where is he."
He tried to laugh, but instantly felt the pain of his multiple stab wounds. Maybe I should've laid back on the stabbing.
"Where the fuck is he!"
"Hall B..." He spoke into the air. It was if I was speaking to a ghost. He smiled, looking up, his eyes beginning to roll back as he said his last words. "Good girl."
I saw his life drain from him, as he became a lifeless corpse.
I got up and looked around. My crossbow was gone. Zara was missing. All I had was Hall B.
