i recently watched an episode (forgot what it was called) where a man was about to get married to a female, until he passed out. doctors do some digging and shit, turns out he used to like guys but he went to conversion therapy, and he claimed it fixed him
which made me really uncomfortable
it wasn't necessarily the mention of conversion therapy, but rather the glorification of it. the fact that he resented what he and his boyfriend did, he resented being gay, and rather than coming out, he received conversation therapy, which is ILLEGAL in several states
now i get it, accepting yourself can be hard. i know. i grew up in a passive-aggressively homophobic household where my mom told me she'd have a heart attack if i were a lesbian. she's also really religious. but i personally wouldn't have considered conversion therapy for a second
