Chapter 2

I slowly walk back into the the house and take out my phone. I dial my moms number and listen as I hear beeping. I start to count in my head.

1 beep...... 2.........3........

I'm startled as I hear my mothers gentle voice on the other end.

"Hello?" I hear her ask sweetly.

"M...mommy?" I say back, choking back tears.

"Oh, hi honey! Sweetie, shouldn't you be on the bus by now??" She asks, I hear worry in her voice.

"Yeah...... About that......." I say slowly.

"Oh jeez, you didn't miss the bus on your first day of school, did you??"

I dont answer. I expect to hear her tell me how hard I make everything, but I'm shocked when I hear her start to giggle on the other end. Then that giggling turns to full on laughing.

"You.....you missed the bus on your first day?? HA! What an impression!! Hahahaha!!" She says in between laughs.

I start to giggle, too. The more I hear the sweet, harmless laughter of my mother, The better I feel. I start laughing along with her. Maybe today won't be such a bad day. No, its gonna be a great day!

Infact, its gonna be the best day ever.

I just finished changing as I hear the car horn. My mother came to pick me up.

I dash threw the front door and jump into the car. I see my mom, trying not to laugh. "What's so funny?" I ask as I climb Into the car.

She hands me a brush and a mirror. Oh my glory lord. It looks like I just got electrified. Holy cheeze-its and rice! I didn't know my luxurious hair could look this..........ugly. I brush through it at least six times, and it looks much better. Thank the lord. That was awful.

We finally arrive at the school. Holy guacamole! Its huge!! They could fit four whales in there!! My mom, the big jokester, slows down. We're moving about as fast as a slug. I give her a look, and she bursts out laughing. I can't help but joining her. There's nothing like the feeling of enjoying time with with your hero. That's my mom.

I told you. Best. Day. Ever.
